Everything had happened so fast.

As soon as he had knocked on the door, there was a commotion from inside the house. The dark lawn was suddenly illuminated by the pale glow of an approaching car. He turned around to look at it. And that is when he felt the door give way and a tiny hand enclosed around his wrist and pulled him in.

They both fell face first on the carpeted floor. The inside of the house was warm and inviting. Lights of different kinds were fixated on the walls. The windows were covered with sails of ships. "Pirates", Taya squealed.

A short, skinny girl was standing beside a taller, more muscular boy. Both seemed to be about the same age. Dax took a closer look at the girl. She was small and slim. Her skin was tanned. And her hair flowed down to her shoulders. She had a small smile on her face as she gave him a hand. "You alright?",she asked. The boy grabbed Taya by the shoulders and set her on her feet.

"I'm Omega and this is my sister Delta...and you need to hide". He pushed Dax and Taya toward a wall that led down to a dark , unknown part of the house. "Stay here and don't be seen", he instructed them. He walked back to his position behind a book shelf and pulled out what looked like a giant gun?

"Its them, its really them...we found them Dax", Taya whispered softly. He gave her a tiny smile.

Just then somebody knocked on the door.
"Who is it?", Delta yelled.
"Police! Open the door!", someone commanded.
"No! Its cooler when you break in", Omega replied.
This earned a snicker from his other brothers and sisters.

The inspector standing on the other side of the old door had had enough. Now they were mocking him.

"Kick it down", he instructed one of the officers.

The man kicked the door of its hinges and it fell down with a loud thud, throwing a cloud of dust from under it. The inspector pushed past the officer and peered in.

Inside, standing at the foot of the staircase, in the wide hall, was a face he hadn't seen in years.

"Alpha", he breathed.
