"This is not poetry",Omega complained as he took a sip of his alcohol.
The pirates cheered as right-handed Riley finished the reciting of a poem he claimed he had written while he had been marooned on a planet with no sun.
"Who's next?",Ellyana questioned the crowd.
"I am",Omega slipped his hand in to the air.
All the pirates turned to look in their direction.
"Omega,we're supposed to stay inconspicuous",Justus hissed.
"Let him do it",Ace told her.
He cheered as his brother took to the stage. Omega adjusted a feather on his head and looked solemnly at the crowd.
The Tavern was completely quiet. All the pirates looked expectantly at the boy.
He cleared his throat.
"A lot of people are conscious of the way they look"
"Some of us don't like the way our nose has grown,some of us hate the scars on our bodies,maybe your hair doesn't fall artistically on your face,or doesn't frame your face well,or maybe you don't have hair at all",he joked.
The pirated cheered and someone clapped.
He twiddled his thumbs.
"Well this poem is dedicated to each and every person here tonight".
It is called "To You".
You are loved
You are amazing
You are beautiful
You are smart
You are confident
You are funny
You are an inspiration
You are artistic
You are important
You are relevant
You are stylish
You are wanted
You are appreciated
You are uniquely awesome
You are everything you have ever wanted to be and so much more.
You are YOU.
Omega looked nervously at the crowd. A single clap could be heard from the back of the room. People began to join in until Omega was now being honored with a thunderous applause. It filled up the room and resonated across all four corners of the Tavern. Pirates were whistling and clapping joyfully,rum was being thrown in to the air without a care. Hats were being thrown on stage.
Ace grabbed a hat and began to fill it up with the coins that people had thrown in Omega's direction. He quickly filled his bag with the coins and placed the feather hat on to his head.
"Only Omega can tell a roomful of pirates they look beautiful and get away with it",Haze yelled over the noise.
"I swear I saw a couple of them crying",Taya laughed.
Omega pulled away from the crowd and approached his siblings.
"Not bad huh?"
Pirates were still congratulating him and patting him on the back. Some had offered to buy him a drink. Some had gone so far as to ask for his autograph,saying that they were going to have it tattooed on them later.
The Tavern had emptied completely. Some other pirates spilled in to the place. Ready to get drunk. Right-handed Riley was begrudgingly looking at Omega.
He made his way over to Omega and tapped him on the shoulder.
"I'm going to have to ask you for compensation",he sneered.
"For what?",Justus asked him.
"For defamation,you have defamed me infront of my fellow pirates and according to the pirate code,you have to pay me",he told them.
"There's no code,you made that up",Ace yelled at him.
"Either way,you have to pay".
"No we don't,you have to make like your ship and split before I round house kick you off of this planet",Delta threatened him.
Right-handed Riley had slowly become red-faced Riley as he did the unthinkable and decided to throw a punch in Delta's direction. She ducked and his fist painfully connected with Omega's gloved hand.
He yelped in pain and was immediately knocked out by Omega's fist.
Sirena poked him.
"Is he dead?"
Delta knelt down and pressed his neck with her fingers.
"Nope,just asleep.
They heard chairs screeching as a couple of pirates walked over to see what had happened.
"You knocked out Riley!",an old sailor accused Omega.
"He didn't do anything,Riley provoked him",Delta defended her brother.
"Then you're both going to jail",one spoke up.
They grabbed Delta and Omega and led them out. Dax and Taya looked horrified. Delta and Omega looked mildly annoyed.
"Remember,no attention your way",Ace yelled after them as they disappeared from view.
"What are we going to tell Alpha?",Sirena was furious.
"What are you going to tell me?",their older brother asked them.
The siblings gulped.
Haze stepped forward.
"Okay,don't get mad,but Delta and Omega just got arrested...and thrown in jail".
"What I don't get is why they even have one of those anyway",Taya mumbled.
"Its to make sure that there is some sort of order,you can't fight with one another and you definitely can't kill each other,atleast not here",Beta told her.
"But he's not even dead",Dax told her.
"Theyre pirates not police men",Beta responded.
Alpha sighed.
"Pirate prison it is then".
