Delta kicked the rusty steel of the prison door.
"Arrrrghhhjjj",she screamed in to the air.
"Cant you kick it down",she asked her brother.
He was sitting on the floor of the prison, staring at the ceiling.
He gulped, his Adam's Apple bobbing up and down.
"I can't, Del even if I wanted to, Alpha told us not to draw any attention to ourselves"
She slumped down on the bed next to him and looked at her brother. The moon light spilled in through the window above them.
"Please?",she begged him.
"You know I can't,each one of us have a bounty on our heads and we're on Isla Freedoma,if these pirates find out,we'll be in REAL trouble and if they don't kill us,Alpha will",he whispered. She rolled over on to her back and placed her hands under her head. She could see shadows dancing on the ceiling. The hallway outside was illuminated by the dull glow of fire lanterns. She could hear the water splashing outside. So she knew they were near the ocean.
"We must be on the East",she murmured.
Omega hummed in response. It was late at night and most of the prisoners had gone to bed.
"I just hope Alpha finds us",Omega replied,miserably.
She nodded.
"Omega?",she asked him quietly.
"Hmmmm".
"What were Sirena and Justus talking about on the ship"?,she asked him wide eyed.
He groaned and rubbed his eyes. He knew what she was referring to.
"Something about Alpha and one of us not making it".
"Do you think....Alpha..".
"No".
"Why not?".
"He can't,this entire family will fall apart".
She propped her head on her elbows and looked at her brother with wide eyes.
"You know we can't be with each other forever, right?"
He gave out a short, bitter laugh.
The sound echoing across the prison cell.
"We're only a century old,Delta".She lay back on the bed.
"I wonder why he slowed down our aging",she murmured.
"Because we were made to last".
The response hung in the ice, cold air. It made Delta shiver. She pulled her coat closer to her and curled up in to a fetal position.Omega got up and made his way over to his sister. He plopped on to the bed. The springs creaking as he pushed himself further in to the wall.
"I wonder, what would've happened had we not been invaded",he wondered.
"We'd be old and have grandkids, like Taya and Dax",she answered him. A little smile crossing her lips.He laughed.
"We'd be Uncle Omega and Aunt Delta to Alpha and Navi's kids",Omega replied with a grin.
"And we could teach them how to swear",Delta laughed.
"Imagine Alpha's face if we taught his kids that",Omega snorted. He stared at his hands, playing with his long fingers.
"I don't mind if we die though",he replied.
Delta looked at him and shook her head.
"You don't mean that",she told him.
He nodded his head.
"I do,death is just sweet nothingness, all our pain and suffering removed, our scars and tears, completely wiped away,we'd be stripped off of all the burdens of the relationships we have ever forged".
"Death isn't easy Omega".
She sat up and scooted closer to her brother.
"Death does end the pain of that person, but it starts the pain of those he has left behind, it's not something you can just try out and come back from if it doesn't fit your fancy, you won't ever be able to wipe away the tears of those who miss you or hold their shaking bodies and tell them it's okay",she whispered.
Taking in a shaky breath, she continued.
"I hate this life, but I love it too, I can't explain it but...I still want to live it,to just keep trying",her voice broke.
He hugged her and sat politely still while she sobbed in to his shoulder.
He understood what she meant.
Being with his siblings was better then sweet nothingness. He preferred the warmth of his sister's hugs rather then cold of a shallow grave."We have to make sure that all of us make it out alive,we have to protect Alpha the most,I feel like he's about to crumble",Omega spoke.
He felt his sister nod in agreement.
"Yeah",she whispered.
Then she grabbed him by the collar and brought her dagger to his neck.
"If you tell anyone I was crying I will punch you in the nose",Delta threatened him.
He grinned and nodded.
Delta doing the same. She replaced the dagger back in its position inside her boot.Just then they heard a commotion outside of their cell and heard the locks click.
Somebody opened the heavy prison door and peered in to the dark room.
"You're good to go",they said, gruffly. The siblings got up from their position and walked in to the dimly lit hallway.
"Right-handed Riley is fine so you can go",a pirate with a bionic leg told them.
They nodded and began to walk toward the entrance.
Somebody cleared their throat.
"Stop",a low voice ordered them.
They stopped in their tracks and turned around.
The pirate walked over to them.
"Phoenix wants to see you",he told them.Delta felt the blood drain from her face. Her ears were pounding and her body felt hot.
She looked over at her brother and the boy had a stupid grin plastered on his face."Follow me",he commanded them.
