"What exactly happened?"
"To who?"
"Well you guys I mean,my grandmother used to tell me stories about you guys all the time, but she never explained how you turned in to this".Dax paused and looked at Delta. She was fumbling with a zipper on her gloves. She was avoiding eye contact.
He continued. "I know that you are Nashkans but you don't look like us,your hair and no one I know can run as fast as you,so...",he trailed off leaving the rest unsaid.
She was staring off in to a distance. When she looked back at him,her dark eyes sent shivers down his spine. She did not resemble the happy go lucky girl she had been just a few minutes earlier. Her face had clouded over. Her mouth was pressed in to a tight line. She looked like she was going to murder him. She let out a sigh then rested a hand on his shoulder. Dax stiffened at the sudden contact.
"Relax,if I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead",she smirked at him. She was back to her old self.
"You're gonna give him whiplash from your mood changes",a voice behind them said. They turned around to see the others standing behind them.
"Story time",Ace said, jumping on to the kitchen table. They all grabbed a seat and some snacks and settled down. Looking at Delta intently.
Delta took a deep breath and started telling the story.
Planet Nashka-100 years ago.
"Time to get up",a female voice leaked in to Delta's dreams. She groaned and covered her head with her pillow in an attempt to block out the sound. Her covers were swiftly pulled away from her. A cold breeze blew from her window. She curled her freezing toes and screamed in to the mattress. Her arm was bent behind her back and was being pulled out of its socket. She dug her nails into the mattress in an attempt to throw off whoever was doing this to her. It didn't help.
Somebody behind her gave a high, feminine laugh.
"BETA!",Delta sneered.
The pressure on her wrist was immediately released. She sat up in bed glaring at her older sister, massaging her arm in an attempt to get rid of the pain. Her arm felt like someone had repeatedly stabbed it with a needle. Her sister's blue hair was tied in a braid and she was wearing a plain, white dress that ended just above her knees. She hit Delta with a pillow.
"Get up",mum wants you in the kitchen.
Delta groaned then crawled out of bed. She grabbed a ribbon and somehow managed to tie her hair with it. She was still in her tank top and grey shorts. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes she walked downstairs. Their home was made from wood and thatched leaves. It was three storeys tall. The upper level contained the bedrooms while the middle level contained the living room and kitchen. The ground level was just an empty basement. It sat tucked neatly between two trees. The homes in this settlement were similar to each other with only slight variations. The Nashkans were a peaceful people. Their biological makeup gave them the ability to be able to absorb any kind of DNA.Delta hopped the last few stairs to the kitchen. A soft, lilting voice hummed its way to her ears. It was a beautiful sound. It stopped when it was interrupted by a giggle.
"Hey mum"
"Good morning love",a woman with bright blue hair replied. She gave Delta a dizzying smile. Her hazel eyes lit up when Ace started telling her a story he had heard in the village square."Help me set the table",she instructed Delta.
The seventeen year old girl complied, reaching for the plates organized neatly in a dish rack. She walked over to the long wooden table in the middle of the room. There were ten chairs placed neatly around it."Morning",Omega strutted over to his mother giving her a little hug. Justus and Sirena followed closely behind them. Each gave their mother a peck on her cheek. They sat in the chairs opposite Omega and the two younger boys.
A tall man walked in to the room. His hazel eyes scanning the little kitchen. A beard covered most of his face. Little lines marked the corner of his dark brown eyes.
"I think we're missing two kids, Jazadil",he said, stroking his chin.
Beta walked in to the room giving him a hug. "Hi dad",she smiled.
"Where's Alpha?"
Beta took her place next to Delta.
"He's with Navi, she's leaving for the city",she replied."Oohhhhh,Alpha's girlfriend is so tired of him, she's leaving the village",Ace laughed.
"Ace!",his mother warned."I heard that!",a deep voice boomed. A tall nineteen year old boy stood at the doorway smirking at Ace's expression. His short blue hair was tucked neatly under a grey cap.
"Come sit",his father patted the chair next to him.
Alpha opened his mouth to respond but a large explosion interrupted him. All he saw was fire engulfing his family and moving rapidly towards him, followed by darkness.
