"Woah",Delta managed.
She looked awestruck at the barren, scorched wasteland that Oberon had become. The trees had been reduced to ash.The ones that had survived had done no better. The ground was littered with the burnt remains of factories, houses and in some places, dead bodies.
Taya shivered at the sight of the destruction. Her boots crunched on the ash and debris scattered all around her. The air was still. No sound could be heard. She tried not to feel anything. Her heart was thumping and her brain couldn't function. Fog covered most of the land, making it unable to see over the horizon. Oberon looked similar to Nashka after its destruction. She felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped. It was just Dax. His face was pale, even though the air was hot and heavy with humidity.
The smell of ash and fire tingled at Dax's nostrils. The sky was still a dark, charcoal color. Very little light managed to pass through. It looked though as somebody had draped the sun with a dark cloth. The air was thick and difficult to breathe in.
"Let's move to the other side of the planet..we'll hide the ship in the forest",Alpha coughed out. Their throats felt similar to a burnt piece of wood, dry and rough. It was becoming harder to breathe and the air was becoming dense. Tears sprung in to Dax's eyes as he followed the others back in to the spaceship.
"Gahhhh",Omega inhaled wrecklessly.
"We could've died, why would you land a ship on a scorched landscape?",he spluttered.Alpha took a swig out of his water bottle and cleared his throat.
They all smelt like burnt ash. Delta wiped away the sweat from her forehead and proceeded to glare at Alpha.
"I wanted to make sure it was him", he replied. Shrugging as he took another sip from his water bottle.
"Well it was him,you happy?",Ace yelled in his direction. He had maneuvered the ship of the ground and was now piloting it to the East. They were swiftly moving through the dark skies. This part of the planet had turned dark red.
"Kinda looks like it's bleeding",Sirena wondered.
"Thats what happens when you attack a planet, nothing is left alive",Alpha murmured.
"What I don't understand is why he would just attack half a planet and leave the other half?",Beta asked.
"Because he's leaving behind clues for us to follow him",Haze replied.
"He knows we're gonna ask around,so we're going to need people to ask",Omega finished.Dax pulled his hoodie up and stared at his hands. He was contemplating the choices he had. He had not known the full extent of the damage the entity could actually cause. He was happy to have survived.
"But for how long",a tiny voice whispered in the dark recesses of his traumatised soul.
Dax closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
"How long indeed".
