Lost In Stardust

Chapter Eight

The inspector knew he had to do something. He took off his cap and scratched his head.

"Look you guys,I get it, I really do,but you're talking about something none of us know anything about,do you really think you can do it?"

The look of determination on their faces answered his question.

He sighed.
"How do I know you won't run away?",he questioned them.

"Because,if Alpha's suspicions are true,then there won't be a universe for us to run away in,we don't have a choice,either stay and fight or run away and die",Ace replied.

The inspector put a finger on his chin and thought it over. He knew that there were whisperes of an impending war,if he let Alpha go,he might just be able to pull it off and even if they didn't and got destroyed in the process,atleast the crimes would stop. Satisfied with this thought he nodded.

"Okay then, we have a deal, I will provide you with anything you need, weapons, passes, ships, anything, just beat this guy".

"Actually, what we need is immunity against arrest, we don't hurt anyone and you don't arrest us", Alpha grinned.

"Agreed", the inspector stuck out his hand.

Alpha descended the stairs and shook the inspector's hand in a firm handshake. He then narrowed his eyes and lowered his voice. "Betray me, and I will burn your department to the ground, with you in it", he warned.

The inspector gulped and nodded.

He ordered the police force to retreat from the house and with a final wave of his hand, he had drove off into the distance. Back to the city. He gave strict orders that whatever had happened that night, would remain confidential information.

Beta and Delta looked worried.

"Will you two lighten up", Omega slapped them on their backs.

"Yeah, I mean its just a guy with a smoke machine", Haze shrugged.

"Yeah, a guy with a smoke machine who's tried to kill us on multiple occasions, did you forget that?'', Justus poked her brother.

"No", Ace stuck out his tongue.

Taya looked at Justus.

"I know who you are", she jumped.

"You're Justus, you and Sirena have the same powers".

"What were they?'', Taya looked nervous as she tried to recall the sister's abilities. She was shaken up from the day's events and her mind was in a mess.

"We have the ability to emit sound waves and destroy everything in our paths", Sirena beamed.

Taya was estatic.

Alpha rested a hand on Dax's shoulder.

"Welcome to the family, both of you, he smiled.

Taya gave Dax a thumbs up. Dax could no longer function.

"So I guess we need to start packing?", Delta asked.

Ace nodded.

"Delta you and Taya can pack up food and other supplies"

"Why can't I do that?", Omega pouted.

Beta put a hand on her hip and glared at Omega. "Because the last time we let you do that, all you packed were bananas", she replied, rolling her eyes.

"Anyway, Taya you can follow Delta."

" Haze, Beta and I are in charge of weapons."

"Justus , Sirena and Omega are in charge of the ship.

"Dax can come with me", Alpha offered.

And with that the group dispersed in to different parts of the house.
