Dax silently followed Alpha down to where the others were gathered.
This room was far bigger then any room in the house. The ceiling stretched up to the heavens. The walls were made of grey concrete. The walls were covered in graffitti .An assortment of tools were scattered across the floor and oil stains stood out like ugly black scars on the grey floor.
A thin layer of dust covered the floor and work benches.Ace and Haze were standing in front of a giant, misshapen mirror. They were currently in the act of making faces and laughing at their reflection. They turned around and waved at Alpha.
"This is Ace and Haze's workshop",Alpha explained.
He gestured at the young boys to come closer. They looked excited. Their faces were red and plastered with smiles so big,it looked like they had both swallowed a cucumber, sideways.
"What's the status on the ship?",Alpha asked.
"Good and ready to go boss",Haze replied with a grin.
"DAX!",Taya squealed and ran over to where they were both standing. She had changed from The grey pants and tip she had been wearing earlier. She was now dressed in a pair of loose black pants,a green tank top,a long brown coat and a pair of dirty, brown ankle boots. On her thigh sat a small gun in its holster.
"I gave her my clothes",Delta yelled from across the room.
"The ship is AMAZING,you should check it out",she smiled.Alpha clapped his hands together. "Alright everyone, gather around",he commanded.
He looked solemnly at the ragtag group of teenagers.
Was he making the right decision?
Was Dax's grandmother really that important?
He was risking the lives of his brothers and sisters for personal gain. He had a profound hatred of what he had become, but his hatred towards who had done this to him was far worse. He was convinced that Dax was his opportunity served on a warm platter. But he also knew, that revenge demands a sacrifice."I'll be that sacrifice,I won't let anything happen to them",he thought gravely.
He looked up at the expectant faces and cleared his throat.
"What we're about to do,is really,really stupid"
"And there's a ninety percent chance that we're gonna get our asses kicked",he finished.
The faces around him looked confused. Omega had a smirk on his face and was standing far too close to Taya."However, there's always that one percent",Alpha grinned.
"And we're gonna take that. All our lives,we have fought, maimed, stolen and killed..
We have loose morals. We're manner less and rude and considered dangerous".
"I don't know what's gonna happen, but if there's even one chance that I can redeem myself,no matter how small,I will take it",he looked at the group."I know what it's like to have all that you love taken from you",he grimaced.
"But I'm gonna help you get her back",he smiled at Dax."But Alpha....I don't want to die",ace's tiny voice broke.
Alpha put a reassuring hand on his brother's shoulder and looked him in the eyes.
"You won't have to",he said sternly.
