Jimmy and I stood up to greet Nancy when she walked into the room; she smiled warmly at Jimmy and me.

"Hey, Jim, how are you?" she asked when she hugged him.

"Good, Nanc, you?" he asked her back patting her back then letting go a second later.

"Excellent and you must be Maggie! I'm so happy to meet you!" she said coming over to me and pulling me into a hug as well.

I hugged her back and smiled at Jimmy over her shoulder, "I'm happy to meet you too, Nancy!"

We broke apart and took our seats, "Thank-you for ordering my drink, Jim!" she said before taking a sip from her wine glass.

Jimmy nodded, "Of course!"

"I'll come back in a few minutes to take everyone's orders," Mario said then gracefully backed out of the room, closing the door behind him.

"So," Nancy said looking to me, she had one of the brightest smiles I had ever seen; it was damn near mesmerizing, "Maggie, I don't want you to think I wanted to have this dinner with you to try and scare you or anything like that, because I would never do that! You and Jimmy have been spending a lot of time together, and Jimmy has the girls often, and I just wanted to get to know the person who might be spending lots of time with them is all."

I nodded as she was speaking, "Yeah, I mean, I totally understand!"

"Great, so tell me about yourself!" she said taking another sip of her wine.

I cleared my throat a little and glanced over to Jimmy, who had an encouraging smile on his face, looking at me, "Well, I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. My family and friends are all still there. I've been in L.A since I was 12; my mom came there with me when I started booking auditions and parts. My mom stayed out there with me until I turned 18 and bought my first house, which is the one I'm still living in. Is there anything specific you want to know?" I asked her.

She hummed to herself, "I just want to preface this by saying I'm only asking because our girls are young, okay? And I don't want them seeing anything they shouldn't be seeing or anything like that. I know that you had a reputation for a bit of a party girl, do you still do that?"

"Nancy," Jimmy said with an irritated groan.

Nancy looked to him confused, "Jimmy," I said soothingly, "It's okay, really," I said touching his shoulder, "To answer the question, no. I'm not into partying anymore, I've actually dropped a lot of my old friends that still do that. My closest friend is Demi, and her boyfriend Wilmer. And Jimmy, obviously. I prefer staying at home, to be honest," I said tucking a curl behind my ear, "Nancy, I want you to know that I would never do anything in front of the girls like that. I have a 3 year old nephew in Virginia, and I'm overly protective of him, and I'm just his aunt. So I couldn't imagine how much more pressure it adds on to you as their mom, you know? I would never put any kid in danger, or anything like that. I mean, do I still have a drink? Yeah, of course, do I get blackout drunk every weekend? Absolutely not."

"I knew you would never but my girls in danger, I'm sorry if it came off that way," she said with a small smile, "I just want to be sure they're not seeing things or hearing things they shouldn't be, is all."

"I totally understand that, Nancy, really I do," I said nodding.

Mario came in at the point and took our orders. The talk turned much more casual, Nancy was asking how things were at The Tonight Show for Jimmy, and she was asking me how some of my upcoming project was going, which I was happy to talk about. After Mario came and took our plates away, Jimmy excused himself to use the bathroom, leaving Nancy and I alone.

"Maggie," Nancy started once Jimmy closed the door after leaving, "I'm really sorry if I came off abrasive or anything like that. I love my girls more than anything on this planet, and I do love Jimmy. Not in that way anymore, but he's the father of my daughters and we were married for a long time. I just want to make sure that everyone is happy, you know what I mean?"

I smiled at her, "Of course. It's someone different around the girls, and you want to keep them safe, and I respect that so much, I really do. So I'm happy that you asked the questions you want to, if you want to know anything else, please let me know. Ask me anything, I don't want you to walk away still wondering anything about me."

She laughed at little, "Well Jimmy didn't seem to like me asking about the partying days."

I smiled and looked down, "Jimmy seems...protective at times," I said looking back up to her.

She nodded with a large smile, "Jimmy is very protective of the people he cares about. He will defend the people he loves until the day he dies, I think."

I felt my heart sputter when she said love. Even the thought of him loving me give me goose bumps.

"I get that vibe from him," I told her.

She sighed and leaned forward, "I'm going to ask you something and I would really appreciate it if you would keep it between us, if possible?"

"Yeah, of course," I said leaning forward too, "What's up?"

Her eyes flickered over towards the doors then back to me, "You genuinely care about Jimmy right? I mean...I don't want him getting hurt, and him wanting you to meet Winnie and Franny is a big thing. And I know Jimmy really, really cares about you. And I just want to make sure the feeling is mutual. Like...and I'm really sorry for saying this but...this isn't for publicity or anything like that, right Maggie?"

I was taken aback briefly, and I leaned back in my chair staring at her, confused and slightly hurt that she would ask me that. She was basically asking if I was leading Jimmy on, trying to get some news stories or something.

"Um," was all I managed to get out for a couple seconds, "No. Not even a little bit. Um, yeah no. I mean, I've been in this industry a long time, Nancy. No offense to Jimmy, but I don't really need him around me to have someone write some dumb story about me. I have my own money; I own my own house in L.A, Virginia and an apartment in London. I act, and sing and I'm helping produce my next album, so I do pretty okay in the money department. I would never use anybody for anything, especially not Jimmy.

"Jimmy...Jimmy means a lot to me, Nancy. He's the most amazing guy I've ever met, and I'm lucky to have him in my life. There is no way in any scenario that I would intentionally hurt Jimmy. I would never knowingly do anything that would hurt him. He's just so amazing, and I'm feeling a lot of different thing for him, in a really short period of time."

"Do you think everything has moved too fast for you two?" she asked me, drinking some of her wine.

I shook my head even before the sentence was fully out, "No. For some people looking at us, yeah, of course it would be fast. But to me, and I think Jimmy too, this is right. I look at it like this, I really like Jimmy and Jimmy likes me, so why prolong it, and wait a few months before we start to date and things like that? If we know how we feel, why try and hide them and conceal them? Why not make ourselves happy and be with who we want to be with? I'm not afraid of how quickly this has progressed, I'm not afraid of saying how much I like him, and I'm not afraid of saying that I want to be with him, for as long as he wants me around."

She smiled her beautiful smile at me, "I think our girls are going to adore you, Maggie. I really do."

I smiled at her, "Thank-you, Nancy. I'm so excited to meet them," I said just has Jimmy opened the door, sharing a laugh with Mario, who was carrying three plates of dessert.

My face broke into a huge smile upon seeing Jimmy; his face matched mine, even though we were together just a few minutes before. Everything just felt better when Jimmy was with me. Everything made sense, everything had a meaning.

He came and sat back beside me as Mario placed desserts in front of each of us, "Tiramisu," Mario said when he had them all in front of us.

"Thank-you!" I said to him with a smile, picking up my fork.

"You are so welcome, all of you! If I don't see you all before you go, I'll see you next time! Jimmy," Mario said extending his hand to shake Jimmy's, "Always a pleasure, I suppose," he said, making Jimmy laugh.

Mario went and hugged Nancy and then came to me, "Don't let him go, he's a great guy," Mario whispered to me when he leaned down to hug me.

He released me, "I won't," I whispered quickly to him, he smiled and me and left the room again.

"I should be going, too," Nancy said after checking her phone, "I have an early flight out tomorrow morning with the girls," she said standing up and getting her purse from the chair next to her.

"Where are you off to?" I asked standing up to say goodbye.

"California," she said with a smile, "I have to do some work on a film for a few days, and then I'm doing the rest over here," she said and then gave Jimmy a quick hug.

She came over to me and gave me a hug, "It was so nice to meet you, Maggie," she told me.

I pulled back and smiled at her, "You too! Thank-you for everything!"

She smiled one last time before she walked out the door, closing it behind her.

"Do you wanna get this to go?" Jimmy asked as I was about to take my seat again.

I smiled and nodded, "Yeah, that'd be nice," I told him.

He smiled and walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, "How did everything go?" he asked me.

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, "Good, I think. What did you think?"

He sighed, "Really well. I'm sorry if she got a little too personal," he said as he pulled back from me.

I smiled up at him, "Don't worry about it, JimJam. Everything is good, I promise."

He laughed and nodded, "Okay," he said before leaning down to kiss to. I kissed him back eagerly, running my hands through his hair; he put his hand on my lower back and pressed me tightly into him.

I bit his lip and he pulled away from me with a small smirk, before moving my hair to one side of my neck and he began kissing down my neck, before making his way back up to the area behind my earlobe, he was alternating between kissing, sucking and biting the skin.

I let out a soft moan and that only made him try and pull me closer to him.

"Hem-hem," someone cleared their throat.

I jumped back quickly from Jimmy, hitting my back on the chair that was behind me, Jimmy was standing there running his hand through his hair trying to smooth it back down.

Mario was standing there with a smirk on his face, "I was just coming back to see if you were all gone, but you two clearly had other plans."

"I'm so, so sorry!" I told him, totally embarrassed.

"Ever hear of knocking?" Jimmy said with a smile, probably trying to make me feel not so humiliated.

Mario laughed, "I don't think that would have mattered, James."

Jimmy shrugged, "Can we get this to go?" Jimmy asked motioning to the desserts.

Mario nodded, "No problem! And don't worry, I can keep a secret," he said with a wink at us before he left.

"Oh my God," I muttered covering my face with my hands.

I heard Jimmy laugh and felt him put his hands on my waist, "Hey, look at me."

I looked up at him and say him smiling at me, "I don't care that he saw us. I'm not embarrassed. I literally have the most beautiful woman wanting to be around me, and kiss me and everything. Why would that make me feel embarrassed? You're the most incredible woman on this planet, Maggie. Don't feel embarrassed, okay?"

I bit my lip and nodded, "You're amazing, Jimmy," I said quietly.

He leaned down and kissed my forehead, "So are you."

Mario opened the door and came in, putting the takeaway containers on the table, "Here you two go," he said placing each of the desserts into the containers.

"Thanks, Mario!" Jimmy said shaking his hand.

"Anytime," Mario said, releasing Jimmy's hand and coming back to hug me again, "You're welcome, come back any time," Mario said releasing me.

"Have a good night," Mario said as he left the room.

"I'm just gonna call Logan," Jimmy said pulling out his phone, he walked over to the corner and starting talking to him. I picked up my clutch from the table and pulled my phone out, checking on some e-mails that I would respond to when I got back to Jimmy's place.

"Logan's outside," Jimmy told me.

I nodded and grabbed the containers, which Jimmy took from my hands, he led us out the back way and to the awaiting SUV, I opened the door and slid in, with Jimmy coming in right after me.

"How was dinner?" Logan asked, pulling out onto the road.

"Great," I said lacing my fingers with Jimmy's. He glanced over at me and with a small smile and squeezed my hand.

I felt my heart pounding in my chest, even with just a small look or smile this is what he did to me. He looked back out his window, but I kept looking at him. How could someone that I had known for such a short amount of time come to mean so much to me? I couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation as to why it was happening, or why he meant as much as he did to me. But he did and it was fast and amazing and I wouldn't change it.

"Ready?" Jimmy asked looking at me. I hadn't even noticed that the car had stopped in the back of the apartment building.

I nodded and slid out after he said good night to Logan, as did I. Jimmy was fumbling with the keys and turned to me, he stopped at stared at me.

"What?" I asked with a smile.

He sighed and smiled a little bit at me, "You're just...stunning, Maggie," he said quietly.

I looked down as I felt the blush creep up to my cheeks. I heard him chuckle, and then the door opened, I looked up and saw him holding it for me.

Yeah. There was nothing I would have changed about it.
