"Whoa."
"Yeah?" I asked looking down at my dress and swaying back and forth.
"You look...just stunning, Maggie," Jimmy told me, walking towards me in his black suit, white dress shirt and black bowtie.
"Thank-you," I said kissing him.
"Your makeup!" Molly squealed with a laugh.
I turned and smiled at her and she came over to me and re-applied a bit of the nude-pink lipstick.
"Sorry," I said with a grin.
She rolled her eyes playfully, "No you're not," she said sliding the tube back into her bag.
I laughed and nodded, "True."
"We'll do a touchup when you're there," Rory, my hairstylists told me.
I nodded and smiled in thanks. We decided one the nude-pink lips, and a subtle smoky eye to go with the whimsical look of my dress. I decided on a Chanel dress, that had a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves that were covered in crystals, and a tulle skirt that flared out only a little bit. I paired them with some nude heels, and delicate jewellery. My hair was in a loose bun at the nape of my neck with pieces pulled out to give it a more relaxed look. I loved it.
"Okay!" Jimmy's agent, Paul, called to all of us, "We're all ready to leave. Jimmy and Maggie will be in the first car and we'll all be in the one behind. This isn't our first rodeo, but it's the first one with all of us. I'll debrief in the car. Let's move people!"
This was the routine of going to a show or event. I didn't even have to think about it anymore. We all pilled in the elevator at the apartment together. It was me and Jimmy, Allie, Paul, Rory, Molly and Stu, Jimmy's wardrobe consultant.
Jimmy and I stood side by side, holding each other's hand. I was just so excited about walking down the carpet with him.
"Okay," Allie said, looking down at her phone, "Maggie, you're going to do some interviews by yourself, and obviously Jimmy will too. I'll be there with you, as usual. You know what to say if you don't want to answer certain questions, we'll all be good."
I smiled and nodded at her. The elevator dinged and we all got out and went to our cars. Jimmy let me in first and he got in right after me.
"Excited?" he asked me as we started to drive.
"I am!" I said to him.
"Have you ever been to the Emmy's before?" he asked me.
I looked over and nodded my head, "I was nominated when I guest starred on a few episodes of Sons of Anarchy."
"Hey," I said, suddenly having a realization, "Do you think Andy will make a joke about all the press we've gotten with you being a million years older than me?"
Jimmy burst out laughing; Andy Samberg was the host for the show. I really liked Andy; I had met him a few times when I was a host and musical performer on SNL. He was hilarious and so nice.
"You never know, probably though," Jimmy said, just as the car started to slow down and cheers could be heard from not too far away, "Here we go," Jimmy said quietly as he pulled up his sleeve to check the time, revealing the watch I had given to him.
I smiled and looked down at my clasped together hands in my lap. I was picking at my freshly painted nude coloured nails.
The car finally came to a stop and Jimmy put his hand on the handle, "Ready?" he asked, turning to look at me with his handsome smile.
"Ready," I replied back, unable to hide a smile.
Jimmy opened the door and slid out, waving at people already. He turned and held his hand out to me to take so I could get out of the car. I took his hand and got out as gracefully as I could, knowing that cameras were now trained on us.
