Baby I'm Amazed {Jimmy Fallon Romance}

Chapter 41

"Almost four million views," Jimmy said, looking up for a moment from his laptop.

I groaned and covered my face as I sat in the chair across from him at his desk in studio 6B.

"I feel like such an asshole," I whined, while he chuckled.

"Hey, if it makes you feel any better, pretty much all of the comments are in your favour. They agree she should have just dropped it," Jimmy told me.

I let my arm fall down off my face, "But still...I was tired and shouldn't have snapped."

"No," he interjected, "you did exactly what you should have. There's nothing wrong with that. You defended yourself, you defended me and you defended us. And hey, Kelly accepted the apology."

I had flowers sent to Kelly with a note  apologizing for getting angry with her, but still reiterating that I feel the questions were out of line, I know it wasn't her directly asking us. She posted a photo to her Instagram and tagged me in it saying how sorry she was as well, and accepting the flowers and apology. The interview had been up for a couple days and I had been having Jimmy keep an eye on it.

Someone started knocking on Jimmy's office door, "Come in!" Jimmy called closing his laptop.

The door opened and Miles peeked in, "Thank God," he said sighing, "I was worried I would catch you guys going at it up against the desk or something."

I couldn't help the laugh that erupted from me, along with Jimmy, "We haven't had sex in the office, if that makes you feel any better," Jimmy told him between giggles.

Miles scrunched up his nose, "Not really."

"What's up, Miles?" I asked.

"Huh, Allie was looking for you, you need makeup done to cover that face up," he said motioning to his own face.

I scoffed and stood up, "Rude," I told him with a small smile.

"Love you!" he said in a high pitched voice.

I shook my head went around the desk to Jimmy, "I'll see you out there," I told him before leaning down to give him a kiss.

"Love you," he mumbled against my lips when we broke apart.

"Love you too," I replied, before turning and heading to the door that Miles was still standing at.

Miles opened the door wider so I could leave, "Where's mine?" he asked as I passed him.

"There's still some left on Jimmy, help yourself!" I said with a smile as I walked away. But not before I heard Miles trying to kiss Jimmy.

"Please welcome Maggie Atwood to the show!" Jimmy called. The blue curtain opened up and I walked out with a smile, waving to the audience.

Jimmy met me at the stairs and took my hand to help me walk up. He kissed my cheek as I said thank-you to him.

I walked to the chair and sat down as the cheers died down. I turned to face Higgins and I smiled and waved at him.

"Hot Sax Time," he said with a wave.

I laughed loudly and shook my head, "No! No!"

Karem started to play for a few seconds before he stopped, I shook my head and smiled at The Roots.

"The Roots!" I called over to them and waved.

"And what about me?" Jimmy said as the audience laughed.

"I see you every day!" I said with a smile as the audience laughed harder.

He smiled and shrugged, "That is true. Well, welcome back to the show, thanks for coming on!"

I smiled, "It's not a problem, I love being on the show!"

"'S host," Higgins said as the audience began laughing and catcalling.

I felt my face go red and I looked down laughing, "Oh my God, Higgins."

I peeked up at Jimmy and saw him laughing and mouthing 'what, no!' to Higgins.

"Oh man, Higgins...you need to relax. Wow. Anyways, how are you, Maggie?"

I smiled, "I'm good, really good. How's everyone here tonight?" I asked looking at the audience; they all cheered and clapped, "Awesome!"

"Now you have this new movie that just came out. We went to the premiere together, and, guys, let me tell you...this movie is just fantastic! Everyone in the cast just killed it! Amazing."

The crowd cheered and I smiled at them, "Thank-you! Yeah, I'm really proud of this movie."

"And you actually brought us a clip of the movie, right?"

I nodded, "I did, yeah. It's one my favourite clips from the movie."

"Do you want to introduce it?" Jimmy asked.

I nodded, "For sure! So, Jen's character and my character just found out some interesting information about Chris Hemsworth's character. And basically we're just trying to process it. We're trying to figure this guy out, trying to figure out who he is."

"This is, All Who Wander," Jimmy said as the clip played.

Jimmy and I were smiling at each other once the clip finished and the audience cheered.

"So this movie has been out for what? Two weeks now?" Jimmy asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, two weeks now! And it's been number one at the box office both week's so," the crowd cheered and clapped making me smile, "Thank-you! Yeah, so it's just been such an overwhelming response we all really appreciate it."

"Alright, well, I wasn't gonna talk about this, but I think I should," Jimmy started, leaning back in his chair slightly.

I sat back in my chair as well and smirked, knowing he was just messing around.

"This is something that is very important to me and to Maggie as well, so we're just going to get this out of the way," he took a dramatic pause and watched as the audience seemed the lean in a bit more, "We're going to play Box of Lies and I'm pretty sure Maggie is going to cheat."

I scoffed and looked over at him, "How the hell am I going to cheat?"

He tried to hide his smile, "The same way you cheated at Mario Kart."

"How did I cheat at Mario Kart? Throwing a shell at you isn't cheating, that's the game," I said as I tapped the table with my open palm.

Jimmy smiled but shook his head, "You're gonna cheat on this game! Your competitive nature is too strong!"

I rolled my eyes dramatically, "Coming from you? You're twenty times more competitive than I am."

"Well we'll see about that! Stay tuned, we're playing Box of Lies next!" Jimmy said looking at his camera.

Jimmy and I were ushered by one of the producers to where the game was being set up.

"You ready?" he asked me when he was sitting on his side.

I nodded while Molly fixed my makeup, "Oh, I'm ready."

We were counted back in and Jimmy started introducing the game and explaining the rules.

"So, Maggie, as our guest you can go first and pick one of the boxes," he said with a smile.

I smiled back and stood up as the crowd yelled different numbers at me; I picked up box number 4 and walked back over to my side.

I sat back down and opened the door on the box and pulled out the plate, I laughed hard when I saw what it was. I lifted the item up so the camera and the audience could see it as well.

"Oh my God," I said through a laugh as I put the item back on the plate, "That's the creepiest thing I have ever seen."

"Tell me!" Jimmy yelled.

I smiled and looked at him though the little window, "Hi Jimmy," I said with a smile.

He smiled back, "Hi Maggie, what's in that box?"

I giggled and shook my head, "Well, Jimmy, in my box...in box number 4 there was a copy of my first album, but instead of me on the cover it's you and you're dressed in...what looks like full eighties garb," I said as calmly as possible.

"Hmm," he started, tapping his chin, "Do you even know what eighties garb looks like?"

I couldn't help but laugh and then I shrugged, "Who's to say?"

He considered me again for a moment, "You lie."

I laughed and picked up the CD, "I speak the truth," I said, holding it up to him.

He threw his head back and exhaled deeply, "I never knew you could lie, this changes everything."

I laughed and shook my head, "I'm an actor, it's what I do for a living," I said with a small smile, "Go and get your box!"

He laughed and stood up, while I put my box and the CD on the ground next to me. Jimmy picked box number 8 and took a seat. He started making random noises trying to cover up the sounds of him taking out the item.

"Ohhh, ahhh, alright," he started once he looked over the item, "Yeah, okay."

"Stop stalling!" I told him.

He laughed, "I'm not stalling! I was just trying to figure out how to describe it," he smiled, "Alright, yeah, so in my box...there's a Justin Timberlake doll wearing a mini replica of the denim outfit he wore with Britney Spears."

I burst out laughing, "Oh my God, I want that to be real because I need to see it. But, you lie, Jimmy Fallon."

He stared back at me for about 5 seconds before throwing his head back and lifting up a Britney Spears doll dressed in a mini replica of that outfit she wore.

"Oooohhhhhh!" I yelled lifting my arms up and dancing in my seat while The Roots started playing some instrumental music.

"No!" he called, looking at the audience while they cheered for me; "No!" he called again playfully with a laugh and smile.

"I'm the winner!" I yelled as I stood up from my seat and walked to his side.

He wrapped his arm around me as The Roots continued to play and looked at the camera, "Stay tuned! We have Mark Wahlberg up next!"

"You killed me!" he said to me with a smile while the band continued to play to entertain the crowd.

I laughed and shrugged, "You know me, I'm overly competitive so you never really stood a chance," I told him.

He stuck his tongue out at me making me laugh as a producer came over to me, "Sorry, Maggie we have to get everything ready for Mark."

I nodded and gave Jimmy a hug, "I'll see you at home," I whispered.

We broke apart and I leaned up to give him a kiss making the audience 'aww' at us. I looked over at them and smiled as I took off my microphone and battery pack, handing it off to the producer.

"I love you," I said quietly.

"I love you too," he told me with a smile, "See you at home."

With one last smile and wave to the audience I followed the producer behind the curtain and walked to my dressing room to get changed, and then I headed back home.
