"Before we start there's something that I really want to talk about, since people are already talking about it," Jimmy said during his monologue at the top of the show.
Jimmy and I were sitting on the couch in the living room, both in our pyjamas, both holding a bottle of beer watching and waiting.
"There's a lot of stuff being said about me forcing my girlfriend to move from LA to New York and move in with me, and that if she didn't, I was going to break up with her," Jimmy paused and the crowd murmured from their seats, Jimmy cleared his throat and continued.
"And yes, I, Jimmy Fallon, 40 year old doughy comedian and talk show host gave his girlfriend, 25 year old stunning actress and singer Maggie Atwood, who was literally named People's Most Beautiful Woman in 2014 , the ultimatum of either moving here with me or ending our relationship," Jimmy said, overly sarcastically. The crowd giggled a little bit, probably not knowing how far Jimmy was going to take this.
"Come on guys!" Jimmy said throwing his hands in the air making the crowd laugh more openly, "That story makes no sense at all. Such a bad story. If I would have said that to her, she would have looked at me and probably punched me in the face. Imagine how that conversation would have gone," he said and stood up straighter.
"Um, hey, Maggie," he started in a timid voice as delicate piano music played in the background, with his hands in his pants pockets, "Listen, if you want this relationship to work, then you're gonna have to choose, move here with me or stay in LA and we break up."
Jimmy took his hands out of his pockets and put his hands on his hips and pretended to push long hair over his shoulders and gave the camera a look with half squinted eyes and made his lips pouty.
"I don't look like that," I muttered before taking a drink from my bottle.
Jimmy laughed, "Of course you don't. That's my version of a sexy smouldering look. If someone's face actually like that I would feel really bad."
I shook my head with a smile and kept watching the screen.
"Jimmy," he started in a raspy voice causing me to literally almost die of laughter, "coming from you that's an easy decision," he said and then punched the area in front of him.
He went back to his 'Jimmy' impression and threw his head back along with the punching sound effect.
The crowd went crazy with laughter and Jimmy bowed deeply, "Thank you," he mouthed and waved once to the crowd.
"Basically," Jimmy started, over the cheering crowd, which died down after he started speaking, "no, I didn't force Maggie to move here. I asked her and I was hoping she would say yes and she did. But that's just so far from my personality. I debated if I should mention this on air, but Maggie said I should because we know how ridiculous this story is, and we don't need to hide anything."
"Bottom line, Maggie could date anyone on the planet. But she's probably been drunk the last few months and decided, why not and is still with me. There is no scenario where I would mess this up. Me doing that would basically be pushing her totally away from me. And I don't want to do that. So, yes, we're living here in the city together. But no, I didn't force her to make that decision. She's a much more strong and confident woman than I am," he said with a small smirk making everyone laugh and Quest to do a rim shot. Jimmy nodded once to him and winked.
"Maggie is her own person, and a strong willed one at that. She means a lot to me, I wouldn't jeopardize that. But, I'm gonna echo something Maggie said today on Twitter, which is that this isn't everything that I want to say, but it's enough for now. So how about we get on with the show?" Jimmy said with a smile before he went over to his desk.
I smirked and nodded, "Nicely done," I said glancing over at him.
He nodded, "It didn't come out too bad?" he asked.
I shook my head, "No I think it was great! Very Jimmy-like," I told him honestly.
"So you mean spastic and awkward," he stated in all seriousness.
I giggled and nodded, "Pretty much."
He sighed and sipped his beer, "They'll leave us alone soon," he said bringing the bottle back down from his lips.
I licked my lips and shrugged, "Someone will do something soon and it'll take the attention away from us."
He whistled lowly, "Hopefully."
"Hey," I said making him look at me, "don't get all squirrelly now. I'm in this until you don't want me to be anymore. And if your impression of me is spot on, then it'll probably be soon because I couldn't deal with that," I said making him laugh.
"People will get bored of us, we're seriously not that interesting. And they'll let us go on with our life," I told him.
He sighed and smiled, placing his hand on my thigh. He had his goofy grin on his face, the one where his tongue peeks through just a little bit.
"We're really not that interesting, are we?" he asked playfully, gently shaking my leg.
I laughed and shook my head, "We're really not!"
He laughed quietly and nodded, "I feel relieved that we're not hiding things, you know. Its like...gosh I can talk to people about you, without pretending that we're just super good friends. I can talk about you on the show without making people questioning things."
I felt myself almost melt when he was talking. Anytime he said things like that, it made me really realize how much he did care me and this relationship. That he was proud that I was with him.
"I feel the same," I told him quietly.
He smiled and turned his attention back to the TV, "Not to sound too cocky, but I had a pretty good interview with Liam Neeson so we should watch."
I smiled and shook my head, "Are you forcing me to watch?" I asked as I focused again on the screen.
He snorted, "Well seeing as how it force you to do everything. Yes I am."
