"How was the shoot?"

I sighed and fell onto my bed, "Ow," I said feeling the back of my head and finding another bobby pin in there.

He giggled on the other end, "Are you okay?" Jimmy asked.

I smiled and threw the pin onto the night table, "Yeah, just found a stray bobby pin. But the shoot was good! It was a lot of fun!"

"Good! So then you have your interview tomorrow and then you head back right?" he asked me.

I nodded, "Yeah, after the interview I'll have a couple hours, then I need to go to the airport to go back home."

"You should extend your trip! I've got your podium all set up next to Higgins!" he said laughing towards the end.

I smiled, "As much as I would love that, I have some writing sessions back home. And also...you know, I live there."

He sighed deeply, "I know. I'm gonna miss you when you go back, you know that?"

I smiled and sat up, biting my lip, "I'm going to miss you too, Jimmy."

I ended up staying at Jimmy's place much longer than I should have the night before; I didn't catch a cab to go back to my hotel until 2:30am. Jimmy had insisted on driving me home, but I finally won one battle with him.

"When do you think you'll be back?" he asked quietly.

I shrugged, "I'm not sure. Hopefully soon."

"I'm sorry that I'm going to have to say goodbye over the phone instead of in person," he told me.

My face started to burn as I smiled, "That's okay. Think of it this way, one of your last images of me will be when I won Mario Kart every single game."

He started laughing and I could just imagine what he looked like, huge smile probably leaning back wherever he was sitting.

"Did you ever stop to think that I let you win?" he asked while still laughing.

I snorted and rolled my eyes, "Please, Jimmy. Let's be real here. Your frustration was so genuine."

He huffed, "I wasn't frustrated, I was playing it off."

I shook my head and breathed out a laugh, "Well, whatever it was I thought it was pretty damn cute."

He hesitated on the other end. I felt my stomach drop. Jimmy and I had been basically flirting all throughout the night the night before, and all over texts and calls during the day. Did I take it too far?

"Well...I think you're pretty cute too, no matter what emotion you are," he almost whispered.

I bit my lip and closed my eyes, almost in bliss. I was very attracted to Jimmy; his humour was the biggest factor in my attraction. Don't get me wrong Jimmy was...fucking gorgeous. But I loved how much he made me laugh, and I loved how much he always tried to make me laugh.

I opened my eyes and checked the clock on the nightstand, it was just after 11:50pm.

I sighed, "Well, I think that's a good place to leave it for the night, Mr. Fallon."

He chuckled on the other end of the line, "You're lucky you have an early call time tomorrow, or else I'd keep you on the phone all night"

I laughed and shook my head, "As much as I would like that, I should go to sleep."

"Okay," he sighed, which made me smile.

"Night, Jimmy," I said just above a whisper.

"Goodnight, Maggie," he said quietly back to me.

I pulled my phone from my ear and hit the red button to end the call.

I stood up and tossed my phone on my bed, I went into the washroom to wash my face and get rid of all of the make up on my face, as well as brush out my hair to make sure I hadn't missed any bobby pins. After I washed, I changed into my pyjamas, which were basically short shorts and an oversized t-shirt. I put my hair into a pony tail and climbed into my bed. I plugged my phone into the charger and picked up the remote controller.

An episode of Cutthroat Kitchen was just starting so I pulled the blankets over my legs and started to watch it. I wondered what Jimmy was doing, it was a Saturday night, and he didn't have his girls. When we were just on the phone he was just at home, doing nothing, but I wondered if he decided to go out with Miles or Higgins or anyone.

Maybe he was sitting quiet in his room like me, waiting until I became too tired to stay up so I would basically just pass out.

I wanted to call him again and talk, but I knew that would be too much. I had overdone my welcome at his place the night before I thought. I felt like I was being obnoxious with texting him, and the occasional call and FaceTime. But I mean...if he didn't want to talk he didn't have to respond, right? No one was telling him he had to talk to me.

I sighed and rested my head on the headboard. I began biting my freshly painted thumbnail, something I did when I was thinking hard about something.

We had been flirting, that much was obvious. But flirting is a personality type too, people just flirted and that was who they are and that's okay.

I enjoyed flirting, half the time I didn't know I was doing it, unless I really liked the guy, and then I would try harder to impress them. But with Jimmy...it was the flirting, but it came extremely natural. I wasn't trying hard with him, everything was just flowing naturally. And that's something that I really liked. Jimmy was hilarious, and so kind and handsome.

But I had only met him three times. Once on the show, the second to go for drinks with everyone and then dinner at his place. Dinner...where he didn't invite Miles and Higgins like I thought he was going to.

But Jimmy was older than me; he wouldn't be interested in someone my age, so much younger than him.

I sighed and checked the time on the clock on the nightstand and saw that I had just spent twenty minutes of my life contemplating this. I rolled my eyes and unplugged my phone, I dialed Demi.

I hopped out of the bed and started pacing, waiting for her to answer.

"Hey, love!" she said into the phone.

I smiled and walked around the living room area of the hotel room.

"Hey, Dem! What's up?" I asked her.

She sighed, "Oh nothing, I did some recording in the studio, but that's about it! How was your shoot today?"

"It was good! Really good!" I said back with a smile.

She laughed quietly, "This isn't why you called. What's up?"

I sighed deeply and plopped down on the couch, "Dem...I have a problem."

"What's wrong, Maggie?" she asked more alert than she had just been.

"Nothing bad," I told her quickly, "Well, that depends on your definition of bad, I guess."

"Don't make me start guessing! Tell me!" she said with a small laugh.

"Okay, here's the problem," I said before taking a breath, "I...well...I think I like Jimmy."

She was silent on the other line, "Fuck yeah, Wilmer owes me fifty bucks," she said happily.

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.

"Well, we both knew you liked him, but it was a bet on how quickly you come out and admit it. I knew you would tell me within two weeks. Wilmer said it would take you at least two months, but I know you, love," she told me simply.

I scoffed, but smiled nonetheless, "Well tell me what I should be doing!"

She laughed, "Tell him, you dork!"

I rolled my eyes, "Just call him up and go, 'Hey Jimmy I like you, but I'm also heading back to California, so I guess I'll see you when I see you!'"

"If you and Jimmy got together, you'd end up moving out there anyways, wouldn't you?" she asked me.

I inhaled quickly, I mean... I had been talking about moving for a little while. But would it solely be for Jimmy. But Jimmy and I weren't together, so why would I move out here for something that wasn't a sure thing?

"I don't know," I said honestly, "I mean...yeah, I guess so. But...Jimmy and I aren't anything right now. So why even entertain that idea?"

"Because it's a possibility, Maggie!" she said with a sigh.

"But it's not, though, Dem! Yeah we flirt, but so what? That doesn't automatically mean he's into me!" I cried, standing up and starting to pace again.

"But that doesn't mean he's not!" she retorted.

I started walking back towards my room again, "He's not even coming to say good bye to me tomorrow, Dem. I know that's petty but that means something too, doesn't it? He would make an effort, wouldn't he?"

"Maggie," Demi said quietly, "Mags, that doesn't mean anything. Maybe he's not going to say goodbye face to face because he doesn't know how you would feel about that.

"Maggie...I know that the stuff that went down with Grant was shitty, trust me, I know. But, you can't let that one asshole tarnish your outlook on love, not saying that you love Jimmy at this point. But not every guy is going to be like Grant, okay? And I know Jimmy, and Jimmy is awesome. If you two did end up getting together you two would be extremely lucky."

I sat on the edge of the bed and nodded, even though she couldn't see me, "Okay," I said quietly.

"Good, now stop being so crazy, and just let life happen the way it's supposed to, alright?" she asked me.

Before I could answer there was a beep on my phone for a waiting call, I looked at my phone to see who it was. Jimmy.

I smiled, "Hey, I have to go, Jimmy is calling me."

She laughed, "Okay! I'll talk to you later, Maggie. I love you."

"Love you too," I said back to her.

"Maggie!" she said before I hung up.

"Yeah?" I asked her.

"For what it's worth, I think you and Jimmy would be great together," she said, and I could tell she was smiling as she told me.

"Thank-you. I'll talk to you later, Dem," I said before hanging the phone up and taking Jimmy's call.

"Miss me already?" I asked playfully.

I heard him quietly chuckle, "Yeah. Yeah I did actually."

I smiled and looked down at the floor, "I missed you too, Jimmy."

----

Jimmy and I talked until 3am about nothing and everything. Our conversations drifted from one thing to another, but the constant was the laughter. We spent the whole night laughing.

The interview for Vogue had gone really well. It started at the hotel as I got ready with the interviewer, Alexander, talking to me and asking questions. We ended up going to one of my favourite mom and pop coffee shops not far from the hotel, and then in Central Park, with Marty and Allie not far behind us.

It all lasted about five hours. By the time I got back to my room it was already four in the afternoon, my flight was leaving at 8:55pm. I had done most of the packing the night before while I was on the phone with Jimmy. I had him on speaker as I threw my clothes into my suitcases.

I changed into the clothes I was going to be wearing on the plane, leggings, loose shirt, combat boots and a floppy hat. I knew it was going to be early morning when I got back home so I wasn't looking forward to that, but I had the next few days off before I started writing again, so that was a plus.

I settled into the couch and turned the T.V., deciding to watch the ID channel rather than the Food Channel. Gotta change it up sometimes.

It was pushing 5:30pm and I knew Marty and Allie would be calling me soon to make sure I was ready. I looked over to the door when someone started knocking quickly, I stood up cautiously. I walked over slowly with my phone in hand ready to dial Marty's number. I looked through the peephole and went wide eyed; I unlocked the door quickly and threw it open with a huge smile.

"Hey!"

"Hey, Maggie!" Jimmy said with a relieved sigh.

I stepped aside to let him in, "What are you doing here?" I asked as I closed the door.

He smiled at me, "Did you really think I wouldn't come and say goodbye to you?"

I bit my lip, "You didn't have to, I mean, I know you're busy and everything."

He shook his head, "Would you just come and give me a goodbye hug, you goof," he holding his arms open.

I smiled and went to him quickly, I wrapped my arms around his neck and his arms went to my waist instantly. He held me tight to him, and I had my face buried into his chest, taking in his smell as best as I could. I couldn't even describe it...it was just perfect.

"I'm gonna miss you a lot, Mags," he said into my hair.

I smiled and nodded, "I'm gonna miss you too, Jimmy. A lot."

"Is it weird I'm going to miss you this much?" he asked.

I pulled away and looked up at him and shook my head, "Is it weird how much I'm going to miss you?" I asked back.

He smiled and shook his head back at me, "Not even a little bit."

My phone started ringing, I let go of his neck and looked at the phone in my hand, "Sorry," I told him, seeing that it was Marty. He nodded, but didn't make a move to let me go.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's just me," Marty said, "We have to leave in five, are you ready to go?"

I sighed and shook my head slightly before answering, "Yeah, yeah I'm ready."

"Okay, I'll be up soon to get your stuff, okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, no problem," I said quickly. We said our goodbyes and hung up.

"I have to leave in a few minutes," I told him sadly.

He nodded and let his arms drop from my waist, "I should get going before you do, or else I might try and change your mind."

"Was you coming here trying to get me to change my mind?" I asked him quietly.

He smiled and moved some of my hair behind my ear, "Did it work?"

I leaned into his hand a little bit, "Just about."

He leaned down and kissed my forehead, "Call me when you land, okay? I don't care what time it is, okay?" he said with his lips still pressed to my forehead.

I nodded slightly, I was worried nodding too much would make him move and I wanted to stay like that for as long as possible.

He took a step back from me and turned the doorknob, "See you soon, Maggie," he said quietly.

I nodded and smiled at him, "I'll see you soon, Jimmy."

He smiled and turned to leave, before closing the door he turned back to me and smiled again, I smiled back and I felt like we had communicated how much we would miss each other in that moment without words. There was an electric charge and I knew...I knew how much I was falling for this man.

He closed the door and I stood there looking at where he just was seconds before until a knock broke me out of my trance. I opened the door half hoping that it would be Jimmy, but Marty stood there with a smile on his face.

"Ready?" he asked me.

I smiled back, as best as I could, "Ready."
