Chapter 14

"Maggie!" Higgins yelled when he saw me the Monday morning when I came in to Studio 6B with Jimmy, "It's about time Jimmy stops trying to hide you and brings you back to visit."

I smiled at him as I hugged him, "It's so good to see you again!" I told him when I pulled away.

"Hey, I'm not trying to hide her!" Jimmy said with a laugh.

"Oh! You're hiding her! Trying to have her all to yourself, James?" Higgins said sassily.

"Boys," I said holding up my hand, "There's plenty of me to go around, relax," I said motioing to myself with my hand.

Jimmy and Higgins both laughed, "We're just gonna go up to my office and then I'll be to the meeting," Jimmy said once the laughter ended.

Higgins nodded, "Alright, I'll see you guys later," he said before turning and walking down the hall.

Jimmy smiled down at me and put his hand on my lower back, "This way," he said pointing to the other end of the hallway. I smiled back and followed his direction. He led me to the end of the hallway and opened the door that had his name embossed on it, he flicked the light on and walked in, setting his bag down by his desk.

"This is really nice, Jimmy," I said taking a look around. He had a large desk set up with a MAC computer set up, along with papers and notebooks scattered along it. He had a leather swivel chair behind the desk, and two plush leather chairs in front of the desk, along with a leather couch on the other side of the room, in front of the massive book shelf. He had pictures lining the walls of some of the guests he had on the show, both from Late Night and the Tonight Show. One of the last photos in a frame caught my eye and made me smile.

"I made sure they added that one in for me," Jimmy said when he saw me looking at the framed photo of the two of us on my appearance on the show a couple months prior.

I smiled at it and traced the frame with my finger, "That's a nice one," I told him. We were both in hystyerics, I could only imagine this was from when I tried doing my Gary impression while going over the EW! sketch.

Jimmy placed his chin on my shoulder, "I have to get to the writers meeting," Jimmy said quietly.

I nodded and glanced at him, "Okay, I'll wait in here."

He slowly moved his arms and wrapped them around my middle, "I was gonna ask if you wanted to come and sit in it with me? It takes a few hours, I didn't want you to get bored in here and leave and never come back."

I sighed deeply, "Well, that just ruined it Jimmy, that was my plan. I guess I'm stuck."

He chuckled and kissed my neck, I closed my eyes and leaned into him more, "I mean, I'm totally okay with that," he said quietly.

I smiled, "Alright, lets get going then," I told him. He moved his arms away, I turned and he nodded at me.

"Lets do it!"

The meeting lasted for just over three hours, but it seemed to fly by. I hardly spoke during it, but I probably did the most laughing. I wouldn't describe myself as the funniest person on the planet, so being around people where their job was to be funny and make everyone laugh was perfect for me.

"Mike is hilarous!" I said plopping down on one of the chairs in Jimmy's office after the meeting.

He laughed and nodded, "I know, right?! I love that guy."

I leaned back in the chair and sighed, "So now what does the host of the Tonight Show do?"

He smiled at me, "Well now the host gets to eat some lunch."
