"Last one," Allie told me quietly as the last interviewer, Tony, left the room.I sighed and took a sip from the water bottle that was on the table next to me, "Then tomorrow home," I said after setting the bottle back down.
She smiled and nodded once, "Then home," she confirmed.
It had been a whirlwind almost three weeks. Right after the premiere in New York we were gone, and traveled around the world for press and premieres. Not that it was actually something new to me; I had been doing that for a long time. But this time was different because I had a real home to go home to, with someone waiting for me.
Jimmy and I talked all the time, whether it was on the phone or texting or Facetiming, we were always in contact. Just talking to him, and knowing he was missing me just as much as I had been missing him made the trip easier and harder at the same time.
We had gotten feedback about the interview with Diane Sawyer that had aired just before the New York premiere. I would say that 90% of it was very positive, and people were really happy for us and were sending us really nice message. But then there would always be the trolls that had problems.
I stood up and stretched as best as I could while wearing a skirt and a blouse with high heels, but I managed because my limbs were starting to get tight from sitting for so long. This was the last bit of press out in L.A, just some standard interviews for people's websites and Blogs. I looked behind me at the giant poster with me, Jennifer and Chris on it, and I couldn't help but giggle.
The door opened and in walked a girl who looked a little bit younger than me; she was in a light blue dress with a white blazer over it. She smiled warmly at me as she walked to her seat,"Hi, I'm Maggie, it's nice to meet you," I told her with a smile and holding my hand out for her to shake.
She returned the smile and shook my hand, "I'm Kelly, it's nice to meet you too," she said releasing my hand. We both took a seat in our respective chairs. I took a quick look behind me at Allie who smiled reassuringly.
"Okay, we're ready. 3-2-1," one of the producers counted down to Kelly.
"We're here talking to Maggie Atwood about her role in the new movie 'All Who Wander,' co-starring Chris Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence. Thank-you for joining us, Maggie!" she said smiling at me and fidgeting with her notes she was holding.
"Absolutely, thank-you for having me!" I said in return.
She looked down at her notes quickly and looked back to me, "So I just wanted to touch upon the interview you did with your boyfriend, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, with Diane Sawyer a few weeks ago."
I nodded once, hoping it would be a quick mention and then back to the movie. Some of the other interviews had mentioned it briefly, just how they thought it was really awesome that we decided to do it, and asking about the positive feedback on it.
"In the interview you spoke about your age difference. After seeing what the internet said about that, do you feel any differently?"
I narrowed my eyes, "In regards to what? Everything I've seen has been quite positive. I'm not really here to feed the internet trolls."
Her smiled dropped momentarily, "Well, it's mostly been positive, but some people have mentioned that it's weird to have a 15 year age difference. Especially someone has young as you."
I looked behind me to Allie who looked wide eyed, so shocked, I turned back to Kelly, "And what? Someone as old as Jimmy? Jimmy is 41 years old, not 100. I think that you, as well as other people on the internet missed the point of our interview. Jimmy and I are very happy together, and...well, to be honest, we don't really care about what people say regarding this apparent giant age difference."
