Chapter 28

The rest of the day went by uneventfully for Janie and I. After we got back to my parents house we helped mom cook her chicken parmigiana dinner and waited for the guys to come back.

They finally came back in around 5:30pm that night, after we had eaten and fed Dominic.

My dad and Adam came in talking and laughing and being super animated like they always were. Jimmy came in behind them, and he was smiling...bigger than I had ever seen it. His eyes were shining and he was laughing with my dad and Adam, like they had known each other for years.

I raised my eyebrows and smiled over at him, he walked over and kissed the top of my head, "Hey, baby," he greeted.

"Hey, is everything okay? You're just super smiley," I asked with a small laugh.

He nodded and kissed my head again, "I'm great, baby. It was an awesome day out!"

I smiled up at him and nodded, before my mom pushed him to the kitchen to get his food.

Jimmy and I turned in early, around 9:30pm. I was changing into my pyjamas before I asked him.

"So what was up when you got back? Did you have that good of a golf game?" I asked playfully, as I pulled my tank top over my head.

He laughed as he stripped down to his boxers and say on the bed next to me.

"Your dad, brother and I had a long talk that went really well," he explained, kissing my shoulder.

I looked over at him and kissed the top of his head as he moved his forehead to rest on my shoulder, "Is that all?"

"Some things just need to be kept with the guys, you know?" he stated, not looking up at me.

I laughed and fell back into the bed, looking over at him where he was sitting, "Oh really?"

He smirked and laid down next to me, he laced his fingers with mine, "Basically, your dad asked me what this was. A fling or a fluke or something. But I told him it wasn't. This was as real as anything on this planet, you know?"

I smiled and squeezed his hand, "See was that so hard to tell me?"

He looked over at me so I turned my head to look back at him, his eyes were gleaming and his smile was so wide. My mouth stretched into a smile to match him. I felt my body sink a little more into the bed.

He leaned a little closer to me, so I closed my eyes, thinking he was going to kiss me.

"I didn't say that was everything we talked about," he said before kissing the tip of my nose.

I opened my eyes, "Then what else is there?" I asked with a smile.

He winked, "Like I said, some stuff needs to stay between the guys," he said before getting back up.

I couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped me. If Jimmy wanted something to be kept a secret, he was going to keep it.

Jimmy and I packed our luggages and carried them back downstairs the next morning, we were going to head over to my house so I could show him around there.

"All ready to head to Miss. Maggie's place?" mom asked when we came into the dining room where she was sitting with the others drinking coffee and Dominic was in the living room watching Paw Patrol.

I nodded and took a seat, grabbing one of the bowls and taking some fruit salad from the bowl in the middle of the table.

"Thank you guys so much for the hospitality. Honestly, this was so nice. I had so much fun!" Jimmy said taking a seat beside me and getting a cup and pouring some coffee for himself.
