Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny wrote to me today, so did Grandma. They were worried, and happy, and glad to hear that I was in Hufflepuff. They're all proud.
They don't know that within these two weeks of school, I'm not exactly the best at anything. We made a potion today, a simple one......Of course, mine let out puffs of smoke and spewed out some weird stuff. In DADA, I couldn't perform a proper knockback jinx. In charms, my feather still refuses to float up. Don't even get me started on Transfiguration.
Why can't I do anything properly? I mess up words and potion ingredients, dates swim around in my head, and most of all, I NEVER REMEMBER ANYTHING. People are whispering and telling stories. Saying i'm nothing like you or mum. Well, i'm not. I'm nothing like you! You wouldn't be proud of me! I'm just a freak with stubborn hair that refuses to change into any natural hair colours!
Some Gryffindors. MEAN GRYFFINDORS. Uncle Harry was a Gryffindor. Aunt Ginny was one too. YOU were one. But they , those Gryffindors weren't brave. They were mean, and they were definitely not courageous. They cornered me earlier, asking if I would turn my hair pink for them. I tried to explain...that.....I can't CONTROL that...but they wouldn't listen. They thought I was being pathetic on PURPOSE. A few knockback jinxes, and an attempted bat-bogey hex. I couldn't even cast a proper shield charm!
You weren't like them...were you? My robes are a mess, and I think I scratched myself when I was running away. They were laughing. They said.....they said that I was nothing...just a dumb Hufflepuff.
They're right.
