Wow! Today was a success!!!

James woke up to find us preparing for classes as if today wasn't special at all. He tried to look for signs, clues, or hints that we had a surprise for him. None.

He tried to casually tip us off on how "today was a special day", or how "He was so excited". We pretended that we completely forgot. This made him sulk for a while. We attended classes as usual. Some people greeted him, but we pretended to be oblivious to the fact that today was his birthday. We ate lunch, swapped homework, hexed a Slytherin (I didn't hex....but I didn't interfere either), and just carried on.

Peter almost burst out when he saw the disappointment on James' face. Well, after classes, dinner, and everything else, the three of us left James and ran all the way to the common room, preparing his surprise.

He walked in a little while later to find the three of us sitting casually, doing homework. Peter was pretending to be asleep on the couch. He couldn't take it anymore.

"I can't believe you guys!"

James has a temper...and it shows quite easily. Just as he said that, the lights turned off (Sirius did that).

When the lights turned on again, a banner with the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAMES POTTER" was hanging from the wall. Streamers were everywhere (set up by me), food was brought (from under the couch) by Peter, gifts were on the table, and someone (probably Sirius) threw confetti in the air.

"SURPRISE!!!" the three of us chorused.

Well, you should have seen the look on James' face! Too bad we didn't get a picture. Many Gryffindor's came out of their rooms to see what was going on. Well, we ate, wished him happy birthday, talked about how we planned everything, and gave him our gifts. It was PRICELESS.

Today was, as I wrote earlier, a success. At the moment, James is sound asleep, Sirius is in the common room (probably asleep), and Peter....well, I have no idea where he is. I'm gonna find them and help clean up the common room.
