28 | Lightening Bolt

Genesis

I stared up at the ceiling as I couldn't sleep . I was hungry again and also couldn't get Nate off my mind . "King." I whispered . It was complete silence .

"King." i said again . I picked up the phone and was answered by a loud snore .

I sighed and decided to just hang up. I got up out of my bed , going to the kitchen . I got on my tippy toes trying to reach the top cabinet . I opened it , getting out a box of little Debby's creme pies . I took one out , unwrapping it . I sat on the couch , turning on the tv so I wouldn't be completely in the dark .

"Baby you gonna let me eat this?" I asked rhetorically , rubbing my stomach as I started chewing .

I watched Catdog , continuing to eat my late night snack. I laid back on the couch , soothing myself as I rubbed my stomach . I was just about done with my pie before I jumped , hearing loud thunder outside .

I looked out the window , seeing the rain pouring down . I held my mouth as I felt my snack coming back up . I rushed towards the bathroom , vomiting in the toilet . I scrunched up my nose , looking at it before flushing it .

"I guess you don't like that , huh?" I asked the baby as I brushed my teeth and gargled some mouthwash .

I heard a loud noise from the living room making me turn towards the door . I walked out slowly , going to my nightstand . I took out a pocketknife and grabbing my phone , dialing 911 so if I saw something , I could press the call button .

I walked out the room slowly as I saw my tv lost its connection from the storm . My heart sped and dropped all at once , seeing the balcony door open .

Nobody better not be joking , I thought as I pulled the blade out .
I picked my phone up , pressing the call button .

Just as I put it to my ear , a lightening bolt struck outside , lighting up the room . Just as the flash of light shone through , my eyes met another pair .

I gasped before he grabbed my hand with the knife , putting it above my head as he pried it out my hand . "911 what's your em--" the call got cut off as he threw my phone down out of my hands , shattering it on the floor .

"Missed me?" The lightening made his sinister smirk visible.

I was woken up by Kassidy running in , crying extremely loud. "Daddy!!" She screamed. I sat up , looking around seeing it was storming outside .

"What's wrong baby girl? C'mere." I said , picking her up as her crying didn't cease .

I looked down at my phone . I forgot I was on the phone with Genesis . I fell asleep since it was close to two o'clock in the morning so I assumed she hung up and probably went to sleep herself .

"G-g-g.." She huffed her cries before starting to hiccup .

"What?" I asked again , squinting hoping this wasn't something about Garry .
