32 | Give Me a Sign to Carry On

Genesis

The day we were moving had arrived quickly . We were finished packing and had just said goodbye to everyone . After officially explaining to Kassidy what was going on , she cried herself to sleep.

Though it was heartbreaking , I was more than glad she had stopped because I was developing a headache from it . That wasn't what I needed since I was already dealing with morning sickness at the moment .

Even though it was cold , I had the air on so I wouldn't get too nauseas. King was driving as if he was deep in thought but I'm not sure where we were going .

"King what's wrong?" I whispered , reaching up to his face. He shook his head as he turned into somewhere . I looked around to see we were at the cemetery where all my family was buried but also , Kelsey .

I looked back at him as we came to a complete stop . He stared forward , nervously biting on his lip . He slowly turned to me . "I just need to somewhat be with her one more time."

I nodded . "I understand King." I laid my head against the seat , feeling like I needed to vomit.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. She slightly nodded as her eyes closed. I know she was dealing with morning sickness earlier but it seemed to still be bothering her.

"Go on , I'm fine." She whispered with a slight smile , nudging me. I nodded with a light sigh , pushing my door open .

I looked back at a sleep Kassidy before stepping out and closing the door behind me. I walked up to the front opening of the cemetery , looking up at the sign. Taking a deep breath and one step at a time , I walked through . I passed many tombstones trying to get to hers .

We sat on the stairs on her porch , looking out at the road . I turned towards her , admiring the side of her face . "Aye.." She turned towards me , a smile forming . "Would you go to prom with me?"

Her smile grew bigger as she looked down . She tried to hide the smile as she blushed before nodding .

"Yeah." I smirked , looking back out at the road .

"Kelsey get in here and help me with this food!!" I heard her mother yell . I turned towards her as she pecked my lips and got up .

"I'll talk to you later." She smiled before hurrying in the house as her mom started yelling again .

I kept walking , soon coming up to the tombstone with her name written across it . I glanced over it and tucked my lips before shutting my eyelids hard.

I sat down on the bench in front of it , feeling some type of way but I felt as though I needed to talk . Like I just had to .

"I'm leaving." I said , of course not getting a respond but the rustling of the leaves because of the wind.

"I wish you were here." I frowned . "I miss you like hell Kelsey."
