My demons

There's evil all around
Some even make a sound
But what about the evil in me?
What about what you can't see?

What about the demons that don't come out at night?
What about the demons in your mind that don't cause you fright?
Because you're used to them, unfortunately
They're always there and you let them be

I have demons in my closet and in my mind
Me, they tend to grind
Why do I let them bully me?
Why do I let them be whoever they want to be?

This evil, these demons, do make a sound in my brain
And I let them do whatever they want; even drive me insane
Why do I let them?
They're not as clean, or as pure, as a gem!

But that's part of life's test
We can never totally lay them to rest
If we could, then there wouldn't be a reason for living
God gave us this challange and He'll continue giving

Giving whatever He wants to give me right now
So, I can grow into whomever I'm destined to grow into, somehow
With all of the demons I encompass, I'll grow into a woman
Ignoring them as much as I can
