Holding you

When I hold you
Do I feel safe?
When I hold you
Can I walk at a regular pace?

Cuz holding you
Isn't helping me
Holding you
Is like holding a tree

What's the point
Of holding a tree
When you can
Just let it be?

Why am I
Still holding you?
Why am I
The only one among a few?

I'm holding you
In my heart
But, it's not helping
It's tearing me apart

So, I should stop
Holding you anywhere
I should stop
Because, I, about me, care
