I just can't fall asleep. Partly because it's a little cold, and our only blanket is Alex's jacket that he got from Regi. Mainly, it's because too many things have been going on and on around me, and how hopeless I feel about it. None of this makes any sense either. Just like Alex said earlier, something's not right. It's really full of holes. Why did they say there were no deaths back at the Academy, when the first attack happened? When clearly there were. I still remembers that dead body we had seen. I don't think I will ever forget it. Or how that man said that I don't exist. Or how those machines even got to the academy in the first place. Or why the wolves haven't tried getting inside again, even when we are trapped?! There are just too many damn or why's, and how's! Nothing wants to make sense! The more I think about it, the more I know about what I don't know. It really makes my head spin. I have tried to keep these thoughts at the back of my mind, but I just can't...

I looked around the room were in. I hadn't really looked around it since we got here. That should keep my mind off of all the things that are going on right now, for a while at least.

I can't really see anything though, because the only light is from the two small lanterns that are in the middle of the group. I can kind of tell that were in some sort of hallway. I just can't see the end of it. The sides are identical to each other, small pillars making crevices in the wall every so many feet on both sides.

Alex and I are right in between two of them. A red carpet covers the floor, and there is some sort of banner on one of the pillars. I can't make out what it has on it...

Willis and the others are sleeping towards the center of the red carpet in a circle. Except for Robertson, who is asleep, standing up while he is standing guard. His head nodded forward with the occasional snore. He's really loud too. Not the best person to trust your life with. Guess its okay though. Nothing should happen right?

The wall behind me just disappeared. I fell backwards into a metal slide. Alex woke up suddenly next to me as we slid down for what seemed only a few seconds, until we fell into a room, and crashed onto the floor with a loud thud. Thankfully, I landed on Alex and slid off of him without hurting myself.

I looked around the room. It is bland with nothing but two large cylinder tubes on the right ends of the room, lit up by a faint light from a thin hallway that branches off from the room in front of them, leaving half of the room dark. I stood up from where I fell and regained my balance. Alex stood up next to me, and held onto his head as he asked,

"Where are we? What just-"

A laugh suddenly came from nowhere that finished his sentence. It wasn't a really evil or demonic laugh, but it was... it was like that of a humble old man. Both Alex and I turned towards the dark part of the room to see a hooded man walk out into the light. Is it-It-It can't be! He's, he's...!

I walked back and held my hand over my heart as it throbbed from fear. It's him. He's the one who told me I don't exist. But why do I feel so terrified... why is my heart racing?

The man grunted while he shook his head. He gestured his hand towards us.

"Glad you got my invitation! Decide what hero you are yet, Alex?"

Alex suddenly pushed me behind me, pulled out a small pistol from his back pocket, and pointed it at him. The man acted taken back, as he shook his head with disapproval. He grabbed his hood with his hand. "Hmph! You going to kill me Alex? When I am the very reason you exist? The only reason your parents were alive?"

Alex lowered the gun in his hands slightly.

"My... My parents?"

How does he know about Alex's parents? He couldn't... what is he trying to do...
