The plan is ready. It's time... and I must admit it. I am scared to death, about everything. I made up this plan in a few hours, and I know just how risky it is. I'm worried... worried about everything. Though, I guess that's just repeating myself.
But I also feel... I feel like I have to do it. Nothing can hold me back. Everyone has lent me their trust, their lives. I only hope I can get them through this.
The lights had turned back on outside, and we can see everything for miles. It's mostly lush fields of grass, other than the trees and buildings that are clumped together in the middle and the edges of the mountain.
I had to eat lunch quickly while I worked with the others to finish it. So it wasn't very tasty, I guess. More like I just stuffed it in my mouth and swallowed it so I wouldn't lose track of what I was doing. Our clock says it's about fourteen hundred hours. Or, about 2:00... I think... So I hope we've got some time... if I'm right.
I stood up from my chair to stretch my arms. I feel a little disoriented, but otherwise okay. I probably should have got more rest, but it's too late now. I yawned for a few seconds. Hopefully no one noticed. They can't see me tired out, not now at least.
I walked to the front door of the house and stopped hesitantly at the foot of it. I can't shake off this nervous feeling I have. It's just that I'm... I'm in charge of people's lives. I shouldn't have to be holding this torch. It's just going to end up burning me...
I heard the door click. I stood back as it swung open to show Regi walk in. He stopped in front of me and firmly stated,
"Alex. We're ready. I hope we get out of here alive. Good luck."
He walked past me, and stopped.
"I'll take care of the ones that you're leaving behind. Including Kairi. Just come back, Okay.... even if I haven't known you that long, you are a good person. I only wish there were more people like you, Alex. I'll see you when you get back."
He continued on.
I felt a warm feeling in my heart. The kind of feeling when someone tells you that they care. Many people don't really think about it, but, it's really important they know that. It feels really great inside to hear someone cares. Why am I thinking this now? It feels like I'm not going to get out of this. Maybe that's why I'm thinking like this... no... I'm just over thinking it. That's all...
It's time. No more running away, or being the weak one. All I've done is get hurt the past few weeks. But now, we are on the offensive. There is no way we are going to lose. I will stop that man. If it's what's right.
I stepped outside, the sun-I mean-light from above, shining over me. All the other students are packing up the tents or are setting up their gear. We have four trucks on the road leading down the hill, outfitted with some massive firepower. We even have a few rockets. Which should come in handy.
I checked my side to make sure the pistol I took from our supplies is still there. Yup. Still there. The sword I was given by Willis is strapped along my waist, so I can slide it out easier. I have a new uniform on, and a brand new cap. Not exactly new I guess. I got my cap, the one I had from back at the Academy, before all of this happened... it is a grey color, its front a little torn, with a feel of pre-use to it. It's one of my favorite things... my bro gave it to me. After I remembered everything about my brother, I remembered the one thing he gave to me. His prized possession; the hat. I am not afraid of that past anymore. He did what he knew was right, he protected me that day. Now I'm going to protect what I believe in.
I walked towards the trucks, and watched what everyone is doing. I can hear the chatter of conversation, and the sound of boots going over the ground. A soft breeze blew around me. It's a little chilly, heh. I sped up my pace, and started to run to them. My adrenalines kicking in. That's good. I'm going to need it. I'm coming to get you. I will stop that man, whoever he is. Fallen Angel or not!
