There is something I may have just figured out. How else could Evan have had his sister land on this very spot? Unless he could have rigged her to get on this very Lander, using the very driver that took us here. That must have been what that sound was before the lander was raised up. Evan must have waited for Evangeline to look for one of the landers, and then set off the specific driver with orders. How else could he provide the upmost security for his sister from the creators? It was the damn driver. He must have had eyes on me... to know I was with Evangeline. Perhaps, I even ruined his plan of sparing his little sister.
I pulled out the pistol from my back pocket again as I saw the driver start to walk up the hill and wave his hand at me and Evangeline. My pistol's sights zeroed in on its target.
I quickly pulled the trigger as the driver fell onto the ground, and screamed in pain as he held onto his leg. Evangeline tried to help him, but I held onto her arm to stop her from going.
"He is one of them. He's one of the creators."
Evangeline looked at me like she didn't accept that. The driver rolled on the ground and screamed at me,
"Agh! Why did you shoot me...I'm not a crea-"
The Drivers pupils shrunk and expanded. Sweat started to fall from his brow. I shook my head as I walked over to him.
"You're not a what?"
The driver stuttered,
"I'm not a... I'm not a crea.... I'm not a creato..."
He continued to mutter his letters and became unable to finish the word. His head fell to the side, his eyes bloodshot as foam poured out of his mouth. He died.
I knew it. The creators can't be disloyal to their leader. Or they die, and unknowingly poison themselves by chewing on an arsenic tablet they keep at the top of their mouths. Quite the useful information I got from Sensei. He did say that the Academy was infested with them. The creator's puppets. The only problem is, they are like time bombs. They were either tortured into being the way they are, or were hypnotized to the greatest degree. Either way, he is dead. He just said he wasn't a creator. So he died. There is no disloyalty, even if it's just to deny it. That is the way of the creators. Well, according to Sensei.
I checked the drivers pulse. Nothing. Guess it's safe to assume we should get going then. Evangeline and I have a ways to walk. I looked over the corpse and noticed a small radio transmitter device on his belt. No wonder he landed us on this isolated beach.
I grabbed Evangeline's hand and led her into the forest. Snow started to fall from the sky, steadily picking up speed. The wind howled through the trees as countless numbers of snowflakes pelted me and Evangeline.
Evangeline and I walked on for what seemed like hours, right in the middle of a damn blizzard. But it shouldn't be far. If Sensei was telling the truth, the new Castle Oblivion, should be just around here somewhere. Or he could have lied. He didn't seem like the one to die without honor. Lying would have just wounded it. Or at least, that is what he told me, before I killed him. Other then he was sorry. The rat bastard...
I stopped as I heard a sound: a metallic screech of sorts. I turned around as I pulled out my pistol and shot at the first wolf that jumped at us. I quickly turned to the right to shoot another one.
I turned around to shoot one that had just about jumped on Evangeline. However, she took it quite well. A bit too well...
I stared at her. Something's off... Her eyes are... different. She's just staring openly at me. Hmmm. Her brother probably did something to make sure she wouldn't wander off to far... Or perhaps...Humph. Treacherous.
