The man frowned down at us. He grunted angrily for a second. He looked at me in a cold stare that pierced right through me. I could feel it... his soulless eyes gazing at me.... Why is he doing this!
He is not an angel! He can't be... I looked at him confident as I tried helping Alex move backwards.
"No angel can be this cruel!"
The man smirked widely.
"You are just like your parents, my niece. How naive you can be. It's good that your father, Leon, isn't here to stop me this time."
I fell back onto my knees, followed by Alex who leaned against me.
The man laughed.
"Your mother and father were both naive, but like your mother, you can be nothing without your father. So you ended up in my care. Surprised?"
It feels like a knife had just slit my throat... That someone had just shot me through the heart. My heart throbbed worse, with hate and fear. I can't be... my father can't be Leon, can he? He can't be- this man can't be my uncle. Would my mother just give me up to him? Why would she leave me with this monster! Why, why, why, why, why!!!!
I grew tears in my eyes. I always end up crying. I'm so... pathetic... so useless.
I... I won't stand for it! Yet I... I am powerless against him. How can this be my uncle? When he is cruel and unforgiving. He can't be my family. How... how is it like this! He will never be family! But what can I ever do... I always end up hurting the ones I care about. I am just a worthless person!!!
Warm tears ran down her cheek.
Alex wiped away my tears with his hand, before he mustered his strength to stand up. With his hand, he pulled me off of my knees. He put out his arm to push me behind him.
"You over think things too much. And besides... didn't you promise me..."
He grinned for a second,
"Don't listen to him. Because he is a fool. No matter what you think, or what anyone tells you, know that you are important. That you are strong. Because if only one person believes that, that person is all you need. Because you are the world for someone. And no one, can ever, change that."
Alex looked straight ahead at the man. I wiped the tears away with my arm and smiled at him. He really is a hero. Just like when we were kids. I'm sorry... I doubted myself....
Alex yelled at the man,
"Shut the hell up! You don't understand a damn thing! I will stick up for my beliefs, because I will always have them. So don't you dare touch her, or try to break her heart! Because she is what's precious to me! And you are never going to know what that's like!"
He stood straight as he wiped off the blood from his mouth. The man raised his hands to clap. Slowly.
He smiled twistedly as he said,
"Ah I never will. But I did. I had someone I loved. I had many things you didn't. Then again you have many things I haven't. But you... you will not know the comfort of parents. Let me tell you a secret. You are the son of two clones, Alex",
He walked closer,
"Copies. Nobodies. That is what you are!"
Alex took a step back, and pushed me further behind him. He breathed harder, and looked at the floor.
The man grinned wider.
"Why do you think my machines collect blood? How I get so many soldiers? How I'm going to repopulate the world when I rule over it? I can't possibly hold enough originals to do that."
