Many think that
Blood is thicker
Than water
Family matters
To all
Comes first
Not true
People are
Twisted, selfish
Renaissance
Living like peasants
Life one big
Spoiled disappointment
To them
Family is only
Important
When it benefits them
Otherwise
Who cares?
We are all
Put on this earth
For a reason
A purpose
To do good
Before moving on
However,
There are people
That believe they were
A gift to the rest
A sense of entitlement
To Jupiter
Where Bloodlines
Cross with
Me, mine, I
And only I
Not we, us,
Together
And it sucks
To come thousands
Of miles to help
A family member
Or two
Where no one is on
The giving train
No respect
Or gratitude
Instead
Wild woman shrieks of
Me, mine, I
There comes a time
In a person's life
Where enough
Is truly enough
Even saints lose
Their patience
Where there was
Once love
Is now disgust
Caring to detachment
Staying to quick exit
Running away
When people react
Like animals
Bloodlines are cut
Severed
To preserve sanity
When giving from hearts
Is taken selfishly
No longer is that
Person welcome
My bloodline
Just got a little shorter!
