Death
Has come
Claimed my loved one
Ended her suffering
No more pain
Wasting away
Illness-ravaged body
She's gone
A hole has formed
In my heart
But I can't yet cry
Haven't processed
Thought inevitable
ALS
Still the idea
Of the finite gone
Is hard to understand
She's gone
To be with her sister
My grandmother
To heaven and peace
Another guardian angel
Looking down onto earth
Our family
So tiny
Microscopic
Spread around the globe
Won't even be there
For her funeral
She's closer to G-d
Buried where she's lived
20 years now
Our homeland
Beloved Israel
I will miss her
Oh so very much
My heart aches
My insides quiver
When will I cry?
Zombie mode has commenced
Appetite gone
Walking around all day
In pajamas
Just want to be left alone
She's gone
Gone
A word so small
Means so much
Means goodbye
