Moving along
Peacefully
Happily
When out of nowhere
My world gets
Turned upside down
Broadsided
By a train
Punched
In the stomach
Tears
Will not stop
Why?
Why did this happen?
What did I do wrong?
Why is it never enough?
Different levels
Different lives
So what?
Feelings are
Or maybe were
Strong
Just a few days ago
A different tune was sung
Was that a lie?
Can't foresee
The future together
Growing apart
Really?
4 months into this
Life partner
Isn't even in the blueprints
Premature evaluation
As I wait
For my lungs
To stop
Constricting like a python
The waterworks to ebb
A new day is on the horizon
Am I ready for it?
I deserve better
I was told
Never had a say
In a 50-50
Hope that mistakes
Weren't made
For those words
Cannot be undone
No going back now
Can't take away
The pain caused
Everything happens for a reason
Will this be one of those times?
