To many
Certain things
Shouldn't be mentioned
Done
Or even considered
As if the devil himself
Will come forth
From the depths of hell
To punish you
But society
As a whole
Is different
Some might
Consider this
Ignorance
While still others
Survival
What I may think
Is an everyday
Existence
You may denounce
As blasphemy
Or vice versa
Like today
This day
This day of hearts
For me is
Taboo
I'm not bitter
Though I have a right
To be
I'm not depressed
I'm not negative
In fact
I'm quite positive
Why so? You may ask
Because each day
Should be special
Each day we're alive
Is a wonderful day
If you're in love
You should show
Express that love
In a special way
Everyday
Today is just another day
Why make it
Too pink
Too much poof
Too overdone
Shudders
Yes today
On this day
Of hearts
I am single
And perfectly
Fine with it
Today I enjoy
The weather
The sun
The warmth
The fresh air
Think about
Commitments
Just on the horizon
Things
Oh so many things
To do
It will soon be
Tomorrow
And yesterday
To be
Taboo
