People in the city
Walk up and down
Their streets
Do they see their surroundings?
Or is the destination
More important
NYC
The city that
Never sleeps
Has very
Jaded people
Who done
Often stop
And smell
The flowers
Each street's
Alive with variety
A painted walking
Statue of Liberty
Goofy & Mickey
Waving as the
Masses walk
No one has
Lighthearted joy
Always rushing
On the go
Do not enjoy
The atmosphere
Stop a minute
Time flies as is
Jaded
Granted
Do not take it
Our city needs
To be viewed
Enjoyed
Why do people
Only love NY
When tragedy happens
NYers just run
Through it
By it
Over it
Every other day
Stop
Look
Listen
Feel
Smell it
In your bones
Your blood
Your heart
Walk and revel
In the city beauty
Don't be jaded
Running somewhere
You'll get there
But an ever changing city
Will never be the same
