We Need A Resolution

When I woke up, I felt like hell. Everything on my body felt like it was about to fall the fuck off. I looked around my room and it looked like a sleep over. I smiled at Dada laying across my feet and Rashad was laid out in a cot. Aubrey was in a chair beside my bed, holding my hand. I stared at him. The last time we talked, things weren't so good. All I know is that I need him. I can't go another day without him.

I squeezed his hand to wake him up. When he began to stir, he swung his head around and looked right at me.

D: Aaliyah

I just looked at him. He stared back at me. Then he tilted my chin up with his finger and kissed me.

D: Hi

A: (small smile) Hi

D: (looks skeptical) Do you remember who I am?

A: (confused) Umm, is there a reason why I wouldn't?

D: (looks at her strange) Hold on, let me get a doctor

He was acting mad weird. I decided to wake Dada up too. I smacked her on her ass and she jumped up.

K: Wha- Liyah!!!! (hops out the bed and goes to hug her)

A: Oooh Dada, wait! Girl, I feel like I've been fighting! Don't!

K: (puts her arms down) Yeah, I know what you mean. You done been through World War III

A: (groans) What happened? The last thing I remember we were on our way to Fiji

K: Giiiiiirrrrrrllll-

The doctor and Drake comes back in and he starts checking me out. By this time, Rashad was up to. When the doctor left, I was confused as hell. They were talking about injuries from a plane crash, gun shot, bruised arms and legs. But what really got me was the request for an ultrasound by my brother. What in the world is going on.

A: Okay, somebody fill me in. What is going on?

After Rashad and Dada gave me the rundown, I was in shock. Damon is such a dumb ass. I want kick his ass so bad. All of this just to get me back? What a damn idiot! But I couldn't help but smile and rub my stomach. I'm going to be a mommy. I looked up at Drake and he was looking down at me smiling as well.

K: Umm, Shad, let's go get something to eat

R: What, why?

K: (nods her head at me and Drake) Come on, I want a banana

R: Oooohhhh let's go

When they left out the room, Aubrey sat on my bed and grabbed my hand, kissing it. He looked at me with tears in his eyes.

D: Baby, I'm so sorry

A: (sighs) Why? Why did you have to act like that?

D: (shakes his head) I love you Aaliyah and I'm in love with you. I get jealous and act out a lot because I'm scared of losing everything that I love. When I was younger, people had a way of leaving my life easily. I watched my mom suffer and I watched my dad walk away time and time again. I didn't want you to to leave me too. I just got so infuriated that I became pigheaded not realizing that my actions could have drove you away for good. All I know is that I need you Lee. I need you like the air that I breathe. And if you don't want me right now, I understand. But I'll do whatever I can or you and our baby. I'll do whatever I can to make you trust and want to be with me again. Just, please... don-

A: (cuts him off) Aubrey, I love you and only you. You reacted so ugly for no reason. I'm not going anywhere and I don't want anyone else. I only want you. I'm yours. I just want to take this one day at a time

D: (smiles at her) I can't believe we're going to be parents

A: (smiles at him) I know right

D: Sooooo, does this mean....

A: That you have some groveling to do, yeessss (laughs)

D: (laughs) I'm cool with that. Anything to get my baby back (kisses her cheek)

K: Knock, knock, love birds

A: (smiles) Hey Dada!

K: Hey mommy and goddy baby! (sits on the other side of Liyah)

R: (smiling/kisses her forehead) I can't believe it. I'm about to be an uncle

K: Ms. Diane and Mr. Mike gonna flip!

A: Do Mom and Dad know?

R: Yeah, I told them. But they'll be more excited when they get to actually see you

A: (smiles at Drake) Awww!

I sat and talked to everybody for a minute. I kept noticing how attentive that Shad was to Dada. I smiled at her. She blushed before motioning me that we'd talk later. The nurse came and took me for my ultrasound. The more I thought about everything, the more excited I became. I'm having a baby.

After finding Aaliyah, I had something on my mind that couldn't wait. When the nurse took Liyah, I pulled Rashad and Dada back in to the room. 

D: I got something I want to run by yall real quick

R, K: What's up?

D: (sighs) When we get back to New York, I want to throw a party for Liyah

R: (smiles) That sounds good bro

D: Annnnnndddd, I want to propose to her at it

K: AWWWWWWWWW!!

R: (claps Drake's back) Alright man! Good looks!

D: Do you think she'll say yes?

K: Aubrey, I know for a fact she will. She loves you. And with the baby coming, she's thrilled

D: Okay. Will yall help a brother out?

K, R: Of course nigga!

D: Cool, cool

I know for a fact that Aaliyah is my one and only. Not only that, She's my Unforgettable Love. She's my happily ever after. I'm ready to make it official.
