Wake Me Up

You wake up to see sunlight streaming through the curtains you forgot to draw the night before. A small smile creeps onto your lips as you remember the events of the night before, you and your husband Dan had been a little too preoccupied getting each other's clothes off and having sex than drawing the bedroom curtains.

Rolling over you see that Dan is still sleeping peacefully, the rays dance on his cheeks. You feel like a creeper watching him sleep but there was something that drew you in. He had little creases in his forehead as if he was deep in thought even when asleep and his lips parted slightly as he mumbled incoherent words as if he was singing even when asleep.

He was a beautiful man and you couldn't believe he'd chosen someone as normal and plain as you to date let alone get married to. As you lay watching him you couldn't help but lean over and run your fingers through his hair, it was a habit of yours. Dan shuffled and yawned and you quickly pulled your hand back.

"Go back to sleep Dan, I didn't mean to wake you."

Dan smiles lazily, a lopsided smile that never fails to make you weak in the knees.

"Were you watching me sleep, babe?"

You blush and try to bury your face in your hands but Dan catches your wrists.

"I think its cute y/n. Besides I sometimes watch you sleep when I wake up before you, so I guess we're even."

A huge smile spreads across your face as you release yourself from his grip and playfully slap him across the chest.

"And here I thought I was being a creeper. I love you so much, Dan."

"I love you more y/n."

Dan sits up and pulls you into a hug before kissing you sloppily on the cheek making you squeal, "eww morning breath Dan."

"Way to ruin the mood y/n," he jokes.

You laugh before kissing him back, "shut up and keep kissing me, Dan."

"I'll be more than happy to babe."

This was how you wanted to wake up every morning; it was moments like this when you didn't care what the haters thought of and Dan. This relationship was perfect and nothing could ruin it.
