I Can Do It Myself

There was only one thing that annoyed you about Sam being home from tour, and that was that he liked to move things around the apartment. It wouldn't annoy a normal person but you were smaller than him which meant you struggled to get things from high places.

You were in the kitchen cooking dinner and you needed to get a dish, but when you open the cupboard it wasn't in its normal spot. Then you remember asking Sam to empty the dishwasher and he'd moved things around again.

You start opening all the cupboards until you find the dish on a top shelf just out of your reach. You curse your boyfriend under your breath and attempt to get the dish yourself.

"Do you need some help y/n?"

You turn and glare at your boyfriend Sam who leant against the doorway wearing a grin to rival the Cheshire Cat.

"I can do it myself."

Sam puts his hands up in surrender and continues watching you as you go back to jumping up and down trying to get a hold of the dish. You hear him laughing and no doubt he was filming this to show to the rest of the band.

"It's okay to ask for help y/n."

"Why must you move things around Sam? You know I'm tiny."

You stop jumping and feel a set of arms snake around your waist. Sam nuzzles his face into the crook of your neck, his chuckles sending shivers down your spine.

"I like being your hero y/n."

Sam removes one arm and reaches up to pick the dish off the shelf with ease before putting it down in front of you on the counter. You smile and turn around in his arms resting your back against the counter.

"You'll always be my hero Sam. But if you continue to move things around I will kill you in your sleep babe."

Sam's smug grin falters, you might be small but you never made empty threats. Knowing you had the upper hand you stand on your tiptoes and peck his lips. He wouldn't be moving things around anytime soon.
