Monday morning, I felt my phone buzz under my pillow. I tossed and turned then noticed that I was no longer dreaming. Is it already morning? I reached under my pillow and pulled the phone out, turning off the alarm.
After running my fingers through my hair, I managed to pull myself up. The sun streamed through my curtains and onto the wall above my bed. Noting that I had woken up on time, I sauntered out of my room and straight to the kitchen for something to eat. When I reached into the cabinet where I kept my cereal, I examined over my multiple choices until settling on Honey Smacks. The cold air for the fridge hit me; I shivered then grabbed the milk. After walking into my room while eating, I paced around my closet to find something to wear until finally choosing just a shirt and some skinnys. Quickly finishing my breakfast, I put on my clothes and went into the bathroom so that I could start with my hair. Let's just go with the usual waves.
"Let's go," I said aloud as I got my keys, phone and bag.
While old 2000's throwback songs played, I took my key out of the ignition and leaned into the passenger's floor space to grab my bag. I walked through the parking garage and casually checked my watch in order to avoid making eye contact with the kids who always played cards in the middle of the pathway.9:20am. Crap. I sort of speed-walked, sort of jogged the rest of the way until making it into my math class.
By far my most hated subject, I got up as soon as the professor let us leave. Pulling my bag over my shoulder as I pushed the door open, I took a breath of relief. I felt the warm air dance as I plugged in my headphones to calmly walk to English. My rhythm was disturbed when I felt someone bump my shoulder. I looked up while taking a headphone out then rolled my eyes.
                              "Morning sunshine," Ryan smiled.
I glanced at him with one eye closed as I squinted. "Hasn't anyone ever told you to not bother someone with headphones in?"
He shrugged and continued to walk alongside. Putting his hands on his backpack, he finally spoke, "you know, most girls appreciate when I take a moment of my time to speak with them."
I almost laughed before keeping my cool because apparently he was being completely serious.
"Oh my bad, your majesty," I managed to say before a laugh escaped my lips.
Ryan turned to me and smiled before opening the building's door for me.
I began, "is this going to be a daily thing because--"
"Can you just relax? I'm just walking to class, no need to make a big fuss," he smirked before going through the already opened door into our English class.
I stood there in front of the classroom in awe at how he managed to spin the whole thing on me being the one who was bugging in. Quite impressive, might I say, but extremely annoying. I'll have to find a different route to class or something because having another conversation with that guy would drive me insane. No matter how hot he was, he was too much to deal with.
Finally walking into class, he was in his usual spot, talking to his usual posse.
"Hey you," I smiled at Maya while sitting down.
"Sorry for leaving you at the party on Friday," she said while leaning closer towards me.
I shrugged. It wasn't a big deal, but she should have stayed with me since, you know, I hadn't been out in a while and didn't know anyone there. Either way, I had my drinks, not too much fun, but it was enough to fill me for the next while.
