KRISTEN'S POV
Today was the second day and not a word was heard from Ryan. He was right when he said that he wouldn't try to contact me until I was ready to listen. In my defense, what he told me was unbelievable. How could he been hiding something like that all along? Although the circumstance of him willfully giving Tyler money for God knows what drugs was disgusting, I had to give Ryan the credit he deserved, he had some balls to tell me himself with out me forcing it or finding out.
I walked out of the large classroom and sighed, remembering that he hadn't shown up for class today.
Walking down the hallway made me think about how I should forgive him and leave all of this behind us. He said he wasn't actually doing drugs, he said that he was sorry. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I needed another person's opinion. Maybe Jayjay or someone who I know would tell me the truth on what I should do. In that same moment, my phone rang, Jake's picture showed up on my screen.
"Hello?" I answered after two rings.
"Hey, can we- are you doing anything today?" He asked.
I then thought, Jake was the perfect person to talk to. All I needed was a truthful friend and by having a guy, I would be able to attain a great for a point of view. Even better.
"Nothing. I kinda need to talk to you," I said.
"Me too," he replied, "how does lunch sound?"
"Great," I nodded, forgetting that he could not see me, "I'll see you there."
                              -
After parking, I saw Jake getting out of his car. I patiently waited while fiddling with my keys for him to catch up and walk with me.
                              "Hey," he smiled.
I smiled in response as we walked into the small café.
After ordering, he offered to pay and we sat outside. I unwrapped my sandwich and began to think of the right words and what I was going to say.
"Okay, I need someone's opinion and some help,"
"On what?" He asked while taking a sip of his soda.
I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans, "would Ryan be a touchy subject?"
He shrugged, "if you're alright with telling me, then I am alright with listening,"
One of my favorite qualities from Jake. He was always understanding and honest. Assuming that mostly everybody knew, but me, Jake probably knew. I nodded and began, "we- he told me that he had been helping tyler with some drug money the other night. He then tried to explain a bunch of other crap about how he was going to fix it all and I just got up and left. I mean... he had been lying all along, right? Anyways so we haven't seen or talked to eachother since. I need your opinion, should-"
"Okay maybe I should tell you what I wanted to tell you first-"
"But I am almost done." It was so wierd of him to awkwardly have such an outburst since he usually was always patient, but I continued, "I think I should forgive him, you know? I mean it wasn't him doing the drugs, he meant no harm, no one got hurt, I guess it was a horrible thing to do, but it happens to all of us and he apologized and I think-"
                              "Kristen-"
"I think that he should get a second chance because I love him and there is nothing that could change that. We both have done things that we may not agree on but-"
Jake dropped his fist onto the table, "dammit kristen. He cheated on you."
"What?" I laughed, not talking in what he had just said.
