Saturday Morning

"Hello?" I yawned while opening my eyes.

"Hey sleepy head! What are you still doing asleep?" Maya's voice came through the phone.

I turned my head and scanned the clock "what the hell are you talking about, it's barely 11am"

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed" she laughed.

"Maybe the joke would be funnier if I had actually woken up. What do you want Maya?" I sighed while rubbing my eyes.

"I called to tell you that everyone is going to hang out at James' house before the big party tonight" she said.

"Who is everyone?"

"Chad, Jayjay, James, Ryan and I. Ryan asked me to call you" she said.

"Why couldn't he call me?" I asked.

"He said- wait he is coming" she told me.

"Ryan wait, I'm talking to her. Back off- Ryan!" came from the distance.

"Hey princess" Ryan's voice alone made me smile.

"Hey, Ry" I yawned again.

"Were you sleeping? Sorry" he laughed.

"Yeah whatever" I smiled "what happen to your phone?" I asked.

"Oh my fucking god. Yesterday after leaving your place, I went to get some gas. Then this crazy son of a bitch walks up and bumps into me. Next thing I know my phone is swimming in a fucking puddle. Now it won't turn on or do shit" he said.

"Wow five sentences and four curses" I replied.

"Sorry, I'm just pissed"

I laughed "when are you going to get it fixed?"

"I-"

"Ryan, it's my turn!"

"Alright, you're coming right?" he asked.

"I guess I am. I'll be there in an hour" I replied.

"Okay, see you later babe" he said.

"Bye Ry" I smiled.

"Finally"

"Hello?" Maya returned.

"Hey" I laughed.

"Ugh, anyways...we are all here, doing nothing just chilling. When will you come?" she said.

"About an hour. See you then?" I answered.

"Sounds good. Bye" she soon hung up.

I flipped the covers off my body and sat at the edge of the bed while running my fingers through my hair. After going into the bathroom and washing up, I strolled towards my room to pick out something to wear. Turning on the news to let me know the temperature, helped me limit my clothing choices. I then found a cute strapless floral dress I haven't wore in forever. I smiled after pulling it out and finding the right shoes to go with it.

As I sat in my bathroom, I decided to just turn my waves into a messy French braid. My natural make up was put on and I was then ready.

I closed my door and walked down the hall only to run into the elderly lady who lived on my floor and sometimes asked me to take care of her dog, Pickles. I politely smiled at her, a sweet smile laid across the woman's face after recognizing me.

"Hello darling" she said.

"How are you?" I asked.

"Fine, very good. Thank you" she nodded.
