I walked into class and noticed Ryan wasn't sitting in his seat. Would he really skip class to prove the point that he is mad at me? That's pathetic ..
I sat into my seat and sighed when the bell rang. Dr. Blake walked through the aisle and stood in front of the class to begin his lecture. I soon zoned out. I was really tired since I barely slept yesterday.
The whole night was spent feeling guilty and miserable. What was I thinking when I kissed Jake? Why would I do that? .. The question that was burning a hole in my head was, who told Ryan? Who would want to do that to me? I can think of one person who hates me and who has wanted Ryan all to herself since day one. Melissa. That bitch. I bet it was her! Ugh!
Anger built up inside of me as I began to feel like Melissa would be the only person to do this to me. That's when the door opened and Ryan stepped inside. He was wearing his WEU baseball pull over hoodie with darkish jeans that hung perfectly on his waist. I personally love the outfit with the Vans he usually wore. It seemed like he hadn't even tried to look good this morning but like always- he surely did.
When he walked into the room, the class watched carefully as his eyes went from the floor to Dr. Blake's threatening eyes.
                              "Cole.."
                              "Blake.."
The professor scowled at Ryan's return before sighing and resuming class.
Before Ryan sat down, he looked up and our eyes locked. It felt much longer than it actually was. It wasn't a second after when he looked away and sat down.
Class went slowly and painfully. I zoned out a couple times when Dr. Blake began talking about Byzantine. Do we really have to go over this? This was reviewed in high school ..
                              "Fitzgerald"
                              "Yes?" I came back.
"Answer my question" the professor said.
                              "What question?" My eyebrows furrowed.
Ryan turned around and looked at me. I tried extremely hard not to turn to him.
"Where is everyone today?" He sighed "the question was: what was the name of the large roman city that the Turks invaded and in what year"
                              "Uhm.." I thought.
                              He raised his eyebrows.
I know this, I know this. The city was Constantinople or something. what year ..
he tapped his foot for answer as I was beginning to remember.
                              "Constantinople 1453" I replied.
He looked up at me and seemed to be in deep thought .. Was I wrong? How embarrassing-
"Correct, moving on" he said as he turned to the board.
I sighed in relief. This was the second time already when he had called on me while I was in a faraway world.
I ran my fingers through my hair and turned. I then noticed Ryan was still looking at me. I shyly looked at the desk then looked back up. A small smile began to creep on his face when he bit his lip and looked forward.
"What was that about?" Maya leaned towards me.
As soon as I was about to answer Dr. Blake stopped talking and stared at us.
"Have anything to say?" He crossed his arms.
"No" Maya replied with a pinch of unnecessary attitude.
"Watch it" the teacher warned right before the bell rang.
I threw my notebook and pen into my bag and stood up. I put my bag on my shoulder and walked with Maya out the door.
