Last night, I couldn't sleep so I laid in bed choosing the playlist that I would listen to while on my way to JJ's party. She invited us right after Maya and I had finished watching a recommended movie on Netflix. I thought it would be fun since it was laid back and she mentioned that not that many people were going but mainly just our friends. I needed to branch out a bit anyways.

Maya decided to ride with James and I had left a little later than planned but was on my way. I was driving in peace before out of nowhere, the car in front of me instantly slammed on the brakes.

"Fucking hell!" I cursed while braking and swerving off the side of the road to avoid crashing into the dumbass in front of me.

The person in front of me had continued going as I sat stopped on the side of the road and partially on the grass. Still gripping my steering wheel firmly and with the gear in drive, a car hit the rearend of mine.

As soon as I felt my car move, I stomped on the brakes but it was no use, it had all happened too quickly. My head jerked forward as I used my hands to cover myself and the air bag popped out, saving my face from the dashboard. Some time after, I lifted my head from the white air bag that had saved me. I looked up amd slowly moved the airbag out of my way to see that I had been pushed. My car was now moved completely off the road and into the grass. I blinked a few times to readjust my eyesight. I didn't feel any pain, just a headache. I felt like I needed some air, so I opened the door and stepped out of my car.

"K-Kristen?" I heard from behind me as I held my head.

I turned around and saw...no. It couldn't be.

"Ryan?"

He rushed over, "are you okay?"?

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said while nodding.

"Are you sure? Do you want me to call the hospital?" He asked, concerned. I would have never guessed this was how he would have acted in a situation like this. I would have never thought I would see him in a situation like this.

"I'm fine," I repeated, "just a headache. How about you?" I asked.

"I'm alright," he took in a deep breath, "wow, out of all the people I could have ran into..."

"Yeah," I laughed lightly," I was thinking the same exact thing."

We stared at each other for some time to let it all sit in. It felt a bit weird and awkward even since we had literally just gotten into a crash.

"So-- um how's the car?" I ran my fingers through my hair... which probably looked like a mess...

I made sure I was fine before following Ryan and he walked over to the back of the car. It was just the headache that was bothering me but besides that, I seemed fine.

He crouched down by my car, "the bumper is pretty banged up. Probably need a replacement and since your air bag popped out, you won't be able to drive till it's put back in." He stood back up and faced me, "I'm really sorry. I'll pay for everything," he seemed really embarrassed in the sad way.

"No, no, its fine. It wasn't your fault," I said, remembering how the person in front of me just braked for no reason, causing me to do the same.

"Well yeah, it kinda was though," he replied.

I crossed my arms, "wait, what happen?"

"The guy in front of you slammed on the brakes. I wasn't paying attention and while you were swerving off the road, I hit you," he explained.

"Ohh," it made more sense now.

"Again, I'll pay for anything you or your car need," he apologized again. He was being so sweet. Even though, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE, he was taking it a bit harder than the baseball-playing jock would.
