The city flew past me out of the window. People were walking, rushing and gushing out of subway entrances and houses, going about their daily business just like I was.

"Pyscho-Pass Mental Hospital next stop!" A happy-go-lucky hologram called out. It bore some resemblance to a squirrel, and I hate squirrels. About five minutes later the bus pulled into the stop and I stood up quickly, grabbing the rail to stop myself from being catapulted away from my seat. I stepped off, going with the flow of the other passengers departing to the hospital.

Gets better every time.

Hmm?

I said, gets better every time. The plain walls, marble floor, generic cells, unresponsive prisoners, and best of all the good old lunches. What's not to like?

The lunches are actually pretty nice..

I made the mistake of giggling at myself, which the receptionist at the desk wasn't too happy about: I could see her manicured nails itching to press that big, red, alert button. That would get me another visit with the counsellor.

"Good morning, could I sign in please?" I cursed my voice for cracking at a time like this.

"Ms. Evergreen. Sign." The red-head sweetly responded from behind a screen, shoving a clipboard in my face. I quickly scribbled my name and set it back on the desk gently before teetering off to the staff room. I ignored the fact she already knew my name- almost everyone did here, and it didn't come as a surprise.

The journey was pretty uneventful. All the patients were still asleep at 5AM, but I was afraid my steps along the marble floor would wake some of them up. I didn't mean to step loudly, just some of the patients have hypersensitive hearing, and boy, did I not want to wake some of them up. After a tense walk through the 'volatile' corridor, I made it to the staff room. I swiped my card in.

"Zahara Dessert!" A voice called out before I was pulled into a crushing hug. I smiled into the warm embrace and returned the greeting.

"Hi~ how are you?"

"Tired as always! I hope you was alright with me ill yesterday, how did you all cope?!" She exclaimed, placing a hand on her forehead.

"We didn't." A man across the room sighed, voice laced with fatigue. "And what sort of nickname is Zahara Dessert?"

"Good morning Kyle!" I piped up, followed by a smile, which he returned nonplussed.

"A pretty good one Kyle! Her name Zara, mixed in with the Sahara Desert and her love of desserts. Amazing!" Mels cried the last word out in English, inducing a smile from me. Her pronunciation had a distinctive flair to it.

"Whatever you say, your Highness." Kyle stuck his tongue out, running a hand through his blonde locks. As he resumed his work, Mels did, and so did I, shuffling onto my desk.

I tentatively started asking my colleagues questions, whilst scrolling through my emails.

"How have you been?"

"Good." They simultaneously replied.

"How's your Pyscho-Pass been Zara?" I heard Mel ask through sips of coffee.

"Fine.." I mumbled, taking out a file from my bag. I didn't want to elaborate further, and hopefully they'd understand that this time. They'd probably send me back into the hospital again to 'revive!' myself.

"Fine." Kyle repeated, slower and with purpose. He's writing my words down then, I concluded with a yawn. The occasional email sent and angry complaints soothed, I settled on studying the patient today.

Patient: Suzuki Shima.
Gender: Female.
Age: 17.
Last Crime Coefficient reading: 154.
Last Hue check: Dark yellow.
Relatives: All deceased apart from her Uncle, Haru Shima. Uncle currently in hospital after being hit by a faulty hologram.

"Zara~" Kyle chimed from across the room. I hummed, clocking the personality traits and study's behind my patient. "When was the last time your Crime Coefficient went over?"

"Two days ago~ Why~?"  I mimicked his tone of voice.

"Zara~ When was the last time you were checked for STD's?"

"What?"
