thanks for reading! <3

--------

My eyes snapped open. Light flooded painfully into my vision, revealing a hospital that I didn't recognise.

Rows of beds lined the cream walls, a few thin dolphin curtains separating them. To my left was a man around my age, with a bandage around his arm and head, sleeping softly. To the right, a weary looking woman with a newborn child in her arms. I noticed that I was still wearing my criminal hospital gown with the 'Zara' stitches.

Instantly I covered the stitches and tightened my hair a bit. Wouldn't want anyone rugby tackling me in my hospital bed.

But to think I can't recognise this- that's suspicious. I know the criminal hospital like the back of my hand- I even know where all the vending machines and water fountains are! But for me to not know? I think I'm in a new hospital.

I have to be in a different hospital. Now that I was thinking about it, it looked like a normal hospital. Normal patients, normal doctors, normal surroundings. There was even some random Asian dude that fell asleep on my bed. Without my glasses, I squinted to see the name tag.

Kim Jungkook

"Excuse me? Kim.. Jungkook?"

He jumped up like a jack-in-the-box. He didn't speak to me at all. Just changed some stuff in the monitors. After a few minutes of his delicate hands brushing over the tubes on my skin, I opened my mouth.

"Are you that jungkook-"

"No!" His accent was slightly tinged with another language. "I'm not the famous jungkook I'm just a jungkook!"

Anxiously I nodded, bringing my hands up to my head. It felt like something was empty there, and for a good reason too.

You there, conscience?

Anyone?

I exhaled.

Guess you're not there anymore.

Makes sense.. yeah.

I mumbled something in annoyance, quickly clamping my mouth shut. Mr. Kim flicked his eyes towards me. Meeting his eyes, he seemed to not pick my mistake up and looked away. I internally sighed in relief; I wouldn't want him thinking I was crazy and putting me into that hospital again.

It was gonna take some getting used to, not having another person there to talk to all the time. It really helped to have someone to check with before you jump off a building or try running into gunfire. That reminded me, I wonder what happened after the nightmare land-

"You underwent surgery." Mr. Kim stated, almost reading my mind. "There was some electrical impulses being transmitted from your neck, so we checked and found.. this."

His metal clip things held up a small half of a transmitter. There was another part on the metal tray to the side of him, lying in a pool of a strangely familiar substance.

"There was some drug inside it, a very concentrated one." He continued. "It almost killed you to take it out, but we managed."
