Chapter 17 : As fate would have it ;)

Author's P.O.V :

Aman saw that Lilly was calling. She picked out the worst timing to call. He looked back at Anna then cut the call. "Ann...", he said and was about to talk when Anna started to laugh. He looked at her confused. What the eff? he thought.

"Oh Mr Ink..., you fell for that?", she said and laughed a little more. Aman looked at her his face still seemed confused.

"I was joking you idiot", she said and wiped her tears, "I thought I would play with you a little bit", she said and then Aman understood it.

"Oh My God Anna!", he said and his eyes widened, "How could you", he said a little angry but a lot more relieved.

"Haha... I am sorry, please don't be mad! And accept it, my acting skills are so on point! I can keep that as a career option", she laughed. "Ah sure you can, I am still mad at you", Aman replied and he hugged her.

When Aman hugged Anna she hugged him a little more tightly than she intended to, and she squeezed her eyes shut to prevent the tears from coming out. Hold on Anna, just a little more, she told herself. She then pulled away.

"So you can now call back your sweetheart, she must be waiting", she said and Aman blushed. "No Ann, she is not-", he tried to say but Anna wouldn't have any of it. "Oh puhleassee... Don't act.. at least with me Mr. Ink", she laughed.

"Anna... You sure you were joking that time right?", Aman asked, concern filling her voice again.

"Of course I was joking Mr. Ink!", she laughed, "Now call her and talk to her about whatever, then get ready, we have an after party to attend to".

Aman nodded and left Anna's room calling Lilly on his way. She told him about the brushes and he said he would take them later on. He headed back to his room to get ready.

Lilly was all set and ready for the after-party when she heard a knock on her door. She went to open it. She had decided on a white dress with grey floral prints on it with broad sleeves and grey heels to match it up.

She opened the door to find Anna in a red dress looking beautiful like a doll. "Come on in Anna, you look beautiful", Lilly smiled. "Thanks Lilly, You look stunning yourself", she replied and walked in "Do you have a little time?", she asked, "Sure whats up?", Lilly replied.

"Nothing much just wanted to know, Will he like this dress? I picked it out specially for tonight", Anna said and Lilly's smile faded away. "Umm who..?", she asked her looking away. "Ah you know who Lilly, Ink who else", Anna rolled her eyes.

"Umm, yeah he will like it", Lilly said and went to keep her other clothes in her suitcase just to keep herself busy.

"You know I have planned the whole night, I will tell you what all I have arranged for me and him-", Anna started off but Lilly cut her in the middle. "I don't want to know Anna, I am sure it is great... whatever you have planned", she snapped. Somehow it was painful to hear all this for Lilly.

Anna looked at her and smirked, "Oh come on Lilly, listen up, I have arranged for a long drive, then a candle lit-", she tried again but Lilly cut her off once more. "Please Anna! Spare me the details", sounding more rude than she intended to.

"Why Lilly?", Anna asked, now her voice serious and stern. "Because I don't want to know", Lilly replied her voice low, she was slowly losing her patience.

"Why you don't want to know", Anna asked again now crossing her arms and looking her straight in the eye. Lilly didn't reply and picked up her purse instead "Lets go we are getting late", she said but Anna held her arm to stop her. "Tell me why Lilly", Anna said raising her voice a little.

"BECAUSE I LOVE HIM DAMMIT", Lilly replied, "because I love him too much and it hurts to see him with another woman", Lilly said her voice breaking. "I am sorry Anna, but.. I just can't", she said now tears streaming down her face.

"Hey...", said Anna holding Lilly by her shoulders. "I know that... That you love him. I just needed you to tell it out loud". Lilly looked up a little surprised at Anna.

"And he loves you too, he always has", Anna said and Lilly looked at her confused, "He never stopped loving you Lilly", she said and smiled before calling out "Hey get in here Ink", and she looked beyond her. Lilly followed her gaze and looked back to find Aman entering the room through the open door smiling slightly and teary eyed... He walked in slowly as Anna moved away.

"Aman...", Lilly said in a faint whisper.

"Lill..", he said as he walked up to her.

He touched her cheek gently wiping away her tears and then cupped her face. She smiled as he leaned in and kissed her.

As their lips touched there was an overwhelming sense of happiness that filled up their hearts. Like they had found life again in something that had died long ago. A feeling so familiar yet so beautifully new and fresh. She put her arms around his neck while he held her by the waist. They felt at home again. The kiss was not too long, not too short, it was just.... perfect!

As they pulled away from the kiss, their foreheads still touching each other, "I love you", they both said in unison and laughed. Lilly buried her head into his chest and he held her back like a precious treasure...
