Pepper's POV

"So 'yun nga, we're planning to open another branch in Laguna. Maraming malls sa Laguna, also some of our loyal customers ay galing doon. For sure, hindi masasayang ang investment mo dito." i smiled at Honey na tila nag iisip, she's planning to invest in Peppermint Cafè and as a businessman i take that as a sign for us to expand. Matagal na din namamayagpag ang cafè here in Manila. So i guess it's time para makilala ang cafè sa mga kalapit na probinsya.

"That's.. A nice idea Pepper, but.. Why in Laguna? There are lots of city here in Manila, why in such a province like Laguna?"

Napalawak lalo ang ngiti ko, as expected from someone like Honey de Asis,"masyado ka talagang sigurista Miss." i pinched her cheeks para asarin, she hissed, pikon talaga."listen, i don't want to settle here in Manila. I want to try something different and by doing that i need to take the risk." that's what i'm doing, though malakas ang kumpyansa ko na kikita ang cafè sa Laguna.

"Fine, basta sasama ako when you visit you're prefered area in Laguna." see? Sigurista siya palagi, hindi na ako magtataka kung bakit napabilang siya sa 20 Most Sought-after Young businesswoman here in the Philippines. She really is someone to look up to.

"As you wish Madame." inirapan niya lang ako, until now i still can't believe that we became friends."so, can you sign the papers now partner?"

"Okay, make sure to treat me after this." natatawa na lang akong tumayo. She's busy reading the documents she needs to sign, while i'm staring at her. She's beautiful, bakit hindi ako nagkagusto sa kanya?"stop staring, nakakairita."

I chuckled, suplada as ever. I was about to tease her when someone knock."come in." si Jella lang pala, one of our crews.

"Sir coffee po?"

"Yeah sure. How about you Honey?" sumenyas lang siya sa akin, seems like saying na kahit ano. So i look at Jella,"two coffee,"

"Uhh.. With Sugar sir?"

Natigilan ako sa sinabi niya, my heart beats fast and i hate it."No. I want my coffee black."i said in a serious tone, agad naman umalis si Jella. I took a deep breath and close my eyes.

5 years have passed.. Bakit ganoon pa din ang epekto sa akin? Masakit pa din..

"Pepper i'm done here." napabutun-hininga ako when i saw the papers. I'm glad we're partners, hindi ko lang alam kung bakit biglang bumigat ang pakiramdam ko."Let's eat, im starving." naglakad na siya palabas ng office kaya sumunod ako.

"Wait, i'll just check my crews." this is what i always do, i checked their work. The area also, ayoko ng napapabayaan ang trabaho.

"Okay, magkita na lang tayo sa parking." she walked gracefully outside the cafè, it's funny how people notice her that easy samantalang ako, it took some years bago ko maappreciate ang presence niya.

I smile faintly ng mawala na siya sa paningin ko. I walk to our kitchen, nang malapit na ako sa pinto ay natigilan ako ng may sinabi sila..

"Grabe mas gumanda si Sugar ngayon!"
