Name: Ruby Grace Faberson
District: One
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Female
Weapon:Bow and Arrow
Appearance: Ruby Grace is quite pretty with long wavy blonde hair that she usually wears up, and cornflower blue eyes. She is an average height at 5'4", and has a lean build. Her face has a silence to it, her eyes are a little too guarded. You can tell that she's been hurt, badly, with one look. Yet, somehow, nobody notices.
Personality: Ruby Grace is of the quiet type, not because she's shy, but because she's been told her whole life that what she thinks doesn't matter. She doesn't argue, never complains. When you say jump, she asks, "How high?" Ruby Grace is very hard-working, and very much a people pleaser, a fact her father has taken advantage of her whole life. In a past life, she may have been sweet, but it's a trait she wasn't able to maintain, and she can be aloof at times. She is at home among books, reading being an escape for her. It's easy, because no one tries to talk to her, no one expects anything from her, she can just read, and be someone else.
While all of these things are true, the biggest thing to know about Ruby Grace, is that the spark is still there. It may be buried deep, but it hasn't burned out.
Strengths: Ruby Grace has been trained from a very young age to fight, she is in excellent shape, and can hold her own with most any weapon, being especially skilled with a bow and arrow. She reads a lot, and thus may be more familiar with certain aspects of the arena. Lastly, she has a lot of grit. She doesn't give up, and if she gets the courage to stand up, she doesn't back down.
Weaknesses: She doesn't trust easily, or at all really. She won't speak up for most anything, and will easily be pushed around. She wasn't supposed to volunteer this year, and isn't as strong as the other careers. Also, she is unlikely to appeal to sponsors.
Backstory: I'm sure you've heard of Quartz Faberson, the victor who managed to win the games within a week, set some kind of record. Well you probably didn't know that he's a perfectionist, that he expects his three daughters, Rose, Topaz and Ruby Grace to be perfect, to excel in everything. He isn't very forgiving of second place, turning abusive if they are anything less than perfect. Ruby Grace is the oldest, and thus takes the brunt of him, holding his attention away from her sisters. He is a large reason for her guarded tendencies. She has trained since she was very young, and is at the top of her class, set to volunteer in three years time. But, she jumped the gun. She couldn't take it anymore, the constant training, the constant talk of the games, competing for a spot she doesn't want, and most of all, the punishment for not being enough. She volunteered at these games, and if she's being honest, she's not sure if she even wants to come back. But, she has too, for her little sisters. They're what keep her going.
Token: A bracelet, a simple silver chain, gifted to her by her father for her fifteenth birthday. For her, they symbolize the chains she is held in.
