Name: Avalynn Feldspar
Age: 15 the day of the reaping
Gender: Female
District: 12
Weapon: Her imagination would probably be her weapon. She is also very fast.
Appearance: Elfish would be a word that comes to mind when looking at Avalynn. She has hair like wheat, catching in the sunshine like gold. Her eyes would take a paragraph to describe, ivy green with bronze and silver flecks. They swirl and change - one day she woke up to find them teal, when yesterday they had been vibrant greens and browns. They are mystical, imaginative, and full of unspoken possibilities and life.
She has a heart shaped face with a round chin, which has a scar, a lesson, engraved into it. Above her chin are rosy lips, often displaying a half smile half smirk. Her nose is small and round, often called a button by her older sisters, sitting between her almond shaped eyes and lips.
Avalynn is small for her age, but what lacks in height and size she makes up for in dreams and imagination. She also is a very fast runner.Personality: Avalynn is a dreamer. The inside of her head is filled with nightmares, hopes, brand new things. She once had a teacher tell her, after reading her writing, 'this is very good. The inside of your head must be a terrible place.' When Avalynn asked why, the teacher responded and said that only a dreamer could imagine a world like the one she had written about, and that all dreamers have nightmares.
Avalynn makes up little stories and has a word for everything. She wishes that she could get her hands on more books, but she's content with the ones that are her own for now. Because she's read a few books, she knows what death is, and it doesn't bother her. She wishes she lived in a book. She is kind but not loving; Avalynn prefers to not get attached to things. She can come off as uncaring, but personal affection is not her strong suit. She's scared of being hurt again. If she gets too close to a person, her imagination (anxiety) will often kick in and stop any feelings for that person.
More an introvert than an extrovert, she is quieter. Avalynn often sits on the sidelines listening to conversations instead of joining, and it can make wiser. However behind her silent attitude she is strong - stronger than most would guess. The problem is she doesn't have the determination or the perseverance to use her strength.Strengths: Her use of words, her ability to tell apart liar, her not caring-ness (she won't fall for love), fast runner.
Weaknesses: Quietness may make it harder to find allies, no knowledge of weapons, no knowledge of survival skills, size, fears of abuse and losing love.
Backstory: Born into a richer family, Avalynn had no siblings. Her parents didn't want to be hurt if they were reaped, but they loved each other enough that they wanted a child. She was loved until her father died in a mining accident. Her mother threw her out on the street as she reminder her mother of her deceased father, and the memories were too much to carry.
She barely survived until the reaping, in which she signed up for tesserae twice, so she'd have enough to survive off of, unless she was reaped.
That was her first reaping.
She was adopted soon after the games into a family as a replacement for their son, who was lost due to the games. The father was a drunkard because of his loss, and beat her until she looked like china in a cabinet, black and blue. The mother succumbed to tuberculosis before the second reaping. Soon after she ran away.
The only escape during those times were the imaginary worlds.
The next two years she lived on the streets, until she was reaped in reaping number four. She went willingly, as it was one more story to tell, one more world to explore.Token: A small unpolished diamond ring, that her father found in a mine shortly before he died. He added the metal to make it a ring. He gave it to her as a birthday/reaping day present.
Other: Avalynn would be the type of person who reads a book and then might say 'watch out for nargles!' She believes the words with all her heart and can't help but try and make them come true.
