Task Five: The Fallen

13. District 6 Male: Devin Eifa Alvah

The boy from District 6 tragically fell to the paws of the three-headed mutt as he tried to reach the trap door on the other side of the room. At first, it had seemed as though Devin was doing well against the beast, being able to dodge the blows quickly as the animal swiped at him. Devin continued on and on, trying desperately to reach his escape route. But all his efforts were to no avail as Fluffy made one final swipe, the animal's sharp claws tearing through Devin's neck. Mothers covered their children's eyes as his decapitated body fell to the floor.

12. District 1 Male: Flame Pheonix Pirkas

It was a bit of a challenge for Flame Pheonix Pirkas to be faced with the chess set, relying more on his brawn than brains. Setting himself into place under the directions of the tribute completing the game as well, Flame had a difficult time listening to the logical directions, instead having his own ideas. Eventually, he could take it no longer, and made a move against his partner's orders. The move was, unfortunately, fatal- a chess piece slammed into the District 1 male, and he found himself at the mercy of the opposite side's queen, who wasted no time in killing him.

11. District 13 Female: Xavi Uriendah Liason

Finding herself in the potions room accompanied by allies Aspen and Kate, it was almost certain that the District 13 female would meet her end quickly. Xavi Uriendah Liason barely had time to think about the challenge before her, eyes barely skimming over the riddle in front of the various bottles before finding a knife lodged into her stomach. The paper slipped from the girl's hand as she stared in astonishment and disbelief at the two allies, shocked despite the suspicions that had lurked in the back of her mind. Numerous anguished cries were heard in Xavi's home district as the girl perished.

10. District 12 Male: Marcus Silverhand

The paranoid boy from District 12 was plopped into a large patch of Devil's Snare as he entered the wizarding world. Squirming in the vines, the boy had no idea how to counter the hostile plants the curled around his limbs and neck. Thrashing wildly, the magical vines only curled tighter around Marcus, his blood supply depleting in his hands and feet while rapidly cutting off his air supply. The tighter they wrapped, the more Marcus struggled. As he took his final breaths, unable to intake oxygen, he could have sworn an owl flew up above. But perhaps it was only a fantasy.

9. District 2 Female: Slate Welby

By the time Slate Welby made it to the Mirror of Erised, exhausted from all of her encounters and a narrow escape from Devil's Snare, seeing her greatest dream reflected back at her just broke the girl inside completely. As she stared into the reflection, an overwhelming sense of longing igniting within her, District 2's female realized that what she wanted in her heart was impossible to achieve. The thought infected every cell within her, and so it was that the knife in her hand made its way into her heart of Slate's own accord, finally realizing the truth in her impossible dream.
