Whispers.

They were everywhere, trailing the two Gamemakers incessantly as they exited the Gamemaker's Tower, making their way to the President's mansion. It was a rare occasion that Paella Andouille and Pluto Solaris were summoned to the massive library where their adventure had first begun, the idea of their literature-themed games spawned for the very first time. But the path they followed was apparently a loop, and their journey would end in the same place it started. The ranks below the duo muttered under their breath, cast quick, nervous glances as the pair passed by. Rumors had spread, suspicions of who would not return. But it was impossible to predict. Nobody knew what went on inside the President's mind.

Paella's hands were clammy.
Pluto's hands were cold.

~~~
Paella took deep breaths.
Pluto couldn't breathe at all.
~~~

Paella thought of the future.
Pluto was caught in the past.

~~~
Paella tripped.
Pluto caught her.
~~~

They opened the library door.

~~~
Pluto stopped.
Paella led him on.
~~~

Pluto zoned out.
Paella listened in.

~~~
Pluto exploded.
Paella couldn't even scream.
~~~

Pluto was warm.
Paella would go cold.
