I jumped out of his arms so fast I almost lost my balance. I could feel my temper boiling."What?" I said, shock evident in my voice.
"Let me explain."
"You know what, cheater?" I snapped. "You can write your explanation down on a piece of paper then shove it up your ass!" I moved as swiftly as I could through the now cold water, Dimitri behind me.
I got out of the water and rushed over to where we were seated then quickly pulled on my dress.
"Vivica, hear me out," Dimitri said, coming up beside me and pulling on his clothes.
I didn't want to hear anything he had to say. I was pissed to the bone! I got down off the stones and hurried through the gate, then back down the path. Dimitri was at my heel. He was saying something but I didn't care what it was.
I reached the car then realized I would need him to get home. Crap!
He caught up with me a few seconds later. There was no way I was getting in his car. I'd rather walk home!
He got in the car and opened the passenger door for me. I walked past it and down the road.
"You can't be serious," he said, driving slowly beside me. "Please get in the car."
"Go home and leave me alone," I snapped.
"Just please let me take you home," he continued. "I can't leave you here."
Why couldn't he just shut up! "Leave me the hell alone!" I snapped.
He stopped the car and got out, then walked up beside me. "How will you get home?" He asked me.
Why was he pretending to care how I got home? "What do you care?" I said. "Just shut the hell up! You're annoying, disgusting and you make me sick! Now go away and leave me alone! I don't ever want to see you again!"
"You can yell all you want," he said. "But I am not leaving here without you."
"Fine," I said, still walking. "Then I guess we'll both be walking home."
"Vivica, just listen to what I have to say."
"I. DONT. CARE!" I yelled. I took out my cell phone and dialled Flo's number.
"Hello?"
"I'm at Mystic park. Come get me," I said and hung up.
I stopped walking so Dimitri returned to his car. About ten minutes later, Flo's car stopped at my feet.
"What's wrong," she said, rushing out and to my side.
"I'm fine," I said. "Lets go."
"Ok, but-," she stopped as she saw Dimitri's car for the first time. As if in a trance she walked over to it and rubbed her hand over it. "Oh My God!" She said in awe. "Whoever does this baby belong to?"
""Let's just go," I said. I couldn't stay there any longer.
Dimitri opened the door and stepped out, bringing a shocked look to Flo's face.
She gasped. "What are you doing here?" She said, plastering a big, fake smile onto her face.
"Flo?" I said impatiently.
"Take her home," Dimitri said to Flo. "I'll talk to her later when she calms down."
"No you wont," I said, grabbing Flo's hand and pulling her to her car. She reluctantly got in and started it, then we drove away.
"What happened?" She asked sometime later.
"Nothing," I answered.
"Viv, we just left a single, drop dead gorgeous millionaire alone in the latest Lamborghini," she said. "It better be something."
It was useless to argue and I didn't really have the strength to so I told her everything.
She stared openmouthedly at me until I was finished, glancing at the road every now and then.
"You're kidding," she said when I was done. "He kissed you? How was it? What did it taste like? Tell me everything!"
"Is that all you heard?" I said. "The son of a bitch is married! I can't believe I let him kiss me! I'm so stupid!"
"No you're not," she said sweetly. "How could you have known?"
"I don't know why it hurts so much," I said, barely above a whisper.
"It'll pass," she said.
We drove in silence for some time. When we almost reached my house she said,"do you want me to stay with you?"
I really wanted to be alone. "No, its fine," I said.
She pulled into my driveway and stopped the car. We said our goodbyes and I got out, then waited until she backed out of the driveway and took off down the road.
I entered my house and dropped myself onto the sofa. I tried to control the tears that were threatening to fall but failed. Before long I was soaking the pillows in the sofa with tears.
Why was I crying? What was wrong with me?
I'm not sure how long I cried for but somehow I managed to stop. I went to the bathroom and washed my face then returned to the sofa and turned the TV on. I wanted something to distract me from all that happened today.
About two minutes later there was a knock on my door.
I had hardly opened it when I heard Dimitri talking rapidly on the other side.
"I am married to an American girl named Amanda Robinson. We separated about two years ago but she refuses to sign the divorce papers. She is a gold-digging viper who is and have always been after my money. She has taken over two of my businesses already and is after everything I have and won't stop until I'm dry. She's ruthless. I am done with her and hope I'll never see her again. My lawyer is dealing with her. The divorce is almost final."
I was half shocked-half relieved and most of my anger drained.
"Why didn't you say that before?" I asked.
"I tried. You wouldn't listen."
"Sorry," I said. "I didn't know." I held the door open for him to enter. When he did, I closed it and we both sat on the sofa.
"Why did you marry her if she's like that?" I asked him.
"I didn't know she was like that when I married her," he answered. "She is tricky as hell, a real snake in the grass. She changed like the weather."
"She sounds real crazy," I said.
"Crazy is too nice a word to describe her. She's-"
Before he could finish there was another knock on my door. I got up and opened it. I was surprised to see an unfamiliar white girl on the other side. She was thin and sweet-looking and wore a business suit with black stiletto heels.
"Can I help you?" I asked her.
"I'm looking for Dimitri," she said sweetly.
Dimitri came up behind me. "Amanda?" I heard him say.
