A knock on my door woke me up the next morning. I had immediately gone to bed after Dimitri and I got back from Amanda's.

I looked at my nightstand clock. 11:15 am.

Exasperated, I crawled out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash my face. After doing so I crawled towards the front door.

It was Flo. I stepped aside and let her in.

"Why aren't you dressed?" She asked me. "Don't tell me you just woke up."

"Dressed for what?" I asked her.

She stared at me disbelievingly. "Don't tell me you forgot," she said as she sat on one end of the sofa.

"Forgot what?" I sat on one end of the sofa.

She rolled her eyes. "That we were supposed to go Christmas shopping today," she said.

"Oh." I had forgotten all about that. We were going to go shopping for house decorations, etc. today. It was just December 2nd but we wanted to get the good things before they were gone.

"Why are you seated?" She said. "Go get ready."

"I'm tired," I whined. "I've had a very tiring night."

Her mouth dropped open and her lips stretched into a smile. "You have?" She said. "Ma girl got some last night! OMG! Tell me all about it!" She looked at me expectantly.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, then told her about all that happened since she dropped me off yesterday.

"She did what?!" She asked, jumping to her feet, when I was halfway through the story. "Put some shoes on and let's go get that bitch! It deserves to die!" She was already hurrying towards the door.

"Sit down and let me finish the story," I told her.

Reluctantly, she sat back down and I told her told her the rest of the story.

She was laughing so hard by the time I was finished. "You killed her? I'm so proud of you," she said.

"Are you crazy?" I asked. "I didn't kill her."

She stopped laughing and her smile faded. "You're kidding," she said. "Why not? I could help you hide the body."

I laughed, but stopped as I noticed that she wasn't laughing. "You're serious?" I asked.

"Yea," she said matter-of-factly, then smiled. "Now go get ready and lets go."

"Fine," I said, getting up.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower, then put on jeans, tees and sneakers. I then took some of my Christmas savings from underneath my mattress, put them in a purse, and went back to the living room.

"Let's go," I said to Flo and we both left.

We walked around for hours, looking, buying, taking, laughing, trying. We ended up buying food, curtains, bedspreads, cleaning liquids, clothes, appliances, etc., then we talked about what we bought over lunch.

It was late by the time I got home and I was so exhausted I could barely stand. I dropped myself onto the sofa and closed my eyes.

I didn't know I had fallen asleep until a knock on the door woke me up.

Exasperated, I got up and went to open it. It was Flo, again. She was wearing shorts, a tank top, and strappy sandals. I gave her a questioning look.

"Aren't you coming to Xavier's dance at Brafazz tonight?" She asked me.

"Do you have something against me sleeping?" I asked her as I went back over to sit on the sofa.

She came in and locked the door. "Pleeease," she pleaded. "I don't want to go alone."

I had promised Xavier that I would be there so I said "ok" and went to get ready.

I took a shower and got dressed then went back to the living room. Flo was almost out of the door by the time I got there and I followed her out.

Outside was darker than usual and the sky was overcast. There was an occasional flash of lightning here and there, followed by a loud clap of thunder.

"It's going to rain," I said to Flo. "Should we really be going out in this weather?"

"It's fine. We'll be inside the whole time. Besides, it may not even rain. You know how the weather is."

We were walking down the driveway when I saw Dimitri walking towards us.

"Are you going out?" He asked me.

"Nope," I answered. "We're just playing dress-up-and-walk down-the-driveway."

I rolled my eyes as Flo rushed over to him and placed a hand on his chest. "We are going to a dance," she said flirtatiously. "Care to join us?"

I wanted to break that hand! Why did I want to break that hand?

"Uh, sure," he said.

He decided to drive so the three of us went over to his place and got into his car.

We reached Brafazz (Xavier's bar) about 7 minutes later. I looked at my watch. It was just 9:30 and already the place was packed. Vybz Kartel's Skool Yutes was booming through the air.

Dimitri got out of the car and opened our doors. We all walked towards the entrance.

Inside was almost completely packed with people. We squeezed our way through the crowd and Dimitri and I sat at the bar. We had lost Flo somewhere in the crowd.

I ordered a shot of campari with cranberry juice for myself and the same for Dimitri.

The song was changed to RDX's Drop Dat.

"This is a good song," Dimitri said after we finished our drink. "Do you want to dance?"

I was about to answer when the echoing sound of fired bullets rose high above the sound of the music. The music stopped suddenly and the majority of the crowd scattered.

Dimitri jumped to his feet. "What's going on?" He asked me.

"It's the police," I told him as I got up also.

"Then why is everyone running away?"

"They probably have something illegal on them," I said. "Come on, let's go find Flo.

We were halfway across the room when I saw three uniformed policemen walk in and head toward us.

"Are you Vivica Monroe?" One of the men asked me as they got to where we were.

"That's her," I heard Amanda's annoying voice say somewhere in the background.

"Yes," I answered. "Why?"

He grabbed hold of both my arms and pinned them behind my back. "You're under arrest for the violation of Amanda Robinson here," he said, pointing somewhere in the room.
I winced as I felt the cold handcuffs being placed over my wrists.

"What?"
