"Amanda told us that she was in her living room finishing up some work when suddenly you busted down her door, marched up to her, and started beating her with your shoe. Is that true, Ms. Monroe?" One of the officers said.

We were in an interrogation room at the station. Seated at the table were two policemen, Dimitri, Amanda, and me.

I sighed. "Did she also tell you that she came to my house a few hours earlier and threatened me? That she was the first to lay her hands on me? And no, that's not what happened."

"Then tell me what happened," the other officer said.

"Dimitri and I were talking at me place when some cat dragged this piece of trash from some place or another and spat her out at my door. She was crying to Dimitri, telling him that she wants him back and when Dimitri told her he was over her crazy ass she started taking it all out on me like its my fault that nobody wants her."

Amanda opened her mouth to say something but the policeman stopped her.

I continued. "She came to my house last night and threatened me. She told me that she was going to slit my throat so I went to her place later to talk to her and she got all violent and tried to kill me. It was self defence, officer."

"She's lying!" Amanda yelled. "She beat me with her shoe and left me to die. Its a miracle that I'm alive."

"Why don't you ask Dimitri," I said. "He was there."

The officer turned to Dimitri. "Tell me what really happened," he said.

"I was in her living room when I heard Amanda knock on her door," Dimitri began. "She opened the door and I heard when Amanda threatened her and left. She was angry and said she was going to go talk to her. I didn't want Amanda to hurt her so I followed her there. That was when I saw Amanda attack her."

Amanda's face showed complete disgust. "Liar!" She said. "That's not even close to the truth."

One of the officers got up. "Mrs. Cromwell," he said, "the force is serious business. The more of our time that you waste, the more lives are left unprotected, so don't bother us with this crap next time, ok?"

"Ok," Amanda said in a low voice.

The officers led us out of the room and out of the station.

"You'll regret this," Amanda said when the officers left.

"Bitch, please," I said. "Don't you have a lovelorn girls meeting to go to?"

She rolled her eyes and walked away.

I smiled and led Dimitri to the side of the road to take a taxi home.

It didn't take us a long time to get one.

We walked the 20 minutes from where the taxi left us to my house.

"Would you like to come in?" I asked Dimitri when we got to the end of my driveway.

"Ok."

We walked up the driveway and to my door. I unlocked it and we entered.

"Would you like some ice cream?" I asked, as he sat on the sofa. The night was kinda cold but I was in the mood for ice cream. I had bought some when Flo and I went shopping.

"Sure," he answered.

I went to the kitchen and scooped some ice cream into two cups then brought them to the living room along with two spoons. I sat on the other end of the sofa and handed him his cup.

We ate in silence for a while.

"This tastes great," Dimitri said, breaking the silence.

"Uh huh," I answered, with a nod.

"What flavor is it?" He asked me.

"Grape nut."

Before Dimitri could respond, there was a knock on my door. I went to open it. It was Flo.

"I heard that some cops cuffed you at the party and brought you away," she said. "Is it true? What happened?"

"Yea," I said. "But it was no big deal." I told her what happened.

"I told you to kill that crazy bitch," she said. "Anyways, I just came to ensure that you're ok. I have to get back to the party."

She turned her attention to the sofa and saw Dimitri for the first time. Crap!

"Hey there," she said to him and he nodded. "You know what? Maybe I should stay. The party is almost over anyways."

"Or you could leave," I said, shoving her towards the door. I would've liked for her to stay but I knew Dimitri wouldn't.

"Am I interrupting something?" She asked with a huge smile.

"No." I held the door open, signalling for her to leave.

"Ok, I'll leave," she said. "But give me the deets tomorrow, ok?" She walked out the door.

I muttered a "whatevs" before closing the door dehind her.

I reoccupied my seat on the couch and resumed eating my ice cream.

Inside my body was freezing by the time I was done, and outside felt colder than before.

Dimitri also finished his so I brought both cups to the kitchen, then returned to the sofa.

I was now shaking violently from the cold and my teeth had begun to chatter.

"Are you cold," I heard Dimitri ask me.

I shook my head. "No," I said. "I'm fine."

"So you're shaking because I scare you?" He asked with a smile.

"Yes."

He laughed and extended his arm. "Let me warm you up."

I looked at his welcoming, muscular arm. "I'm fine, really," I said.

"C'mon," he said. "I don't bite."

"Ok. Maybe for a second."

I got up and sat inside his extended arm. He wrapped both his arms around me and I closed my eyes as I felt my body get warmer, and warmer, and warmer.

I opened my eyes. Dimitri was staring at me. His face was inches from mine. His beautiful eyes searched my eyes. His sensual lips slowly moved towards mine.

I heard the doorknob being spun and we shifted our attention to the door. It was pushed open and Amanda walked in.

I swear, if I don't kill this bitch...
