I stared through the darkness at Dimitri. He was fast asleep. The dim predawn light reflected by the curtains lit his face just enough so I could see his handsome features.

His face was relaxed and peaceful, and his sensual lips were slightly parted. I felt a surge of need rush through my body and I mentally kicked myself.

He just fell asleep, Vivica. Let him rest.

He had fallen asleep just an hour or so ago after going round after round all through the night.

I had yet to fall asleep. I had tried multiple times but every time I closed my eyes all I could see was Dimitri and events of the passionate night we had.

What a night it was! I had never felt so good!

I looked at the clock. It was 05:02am. I had to get at least 3 hours of sleep.

I got closer in Dimitri's arms and closed my eyes. I fell into a deep and comfortable sleep.

I was awakened by the mouthwatering aroma of eggs and coffee. I opened my eyes and glanced at the spot next to me. It was empty.

I got out of bed and pulled on Dimitri's shirt, then walked through an adjoining door to Dimitri's bathroom. I washed my face and returned to the room.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My face revealed a tiny bit of the tiredness I felt and I realized I was missing an earring.

I must've lost it somewhere.

I was about to open the door to exit the room when it was suddenly opened and Dimitri walked in, carrying a tray.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said when he saw me.

I smiled. "Morning," I answered, looking at the tray in his hands.

He walked past me and sat on the bed, then motioned for me to join him. I did.

"I made you breakfast," he said.

I laughed. "Yeah, right," I said sarcastically. "What did you buy?"

He looked serious. "No, Seriously. I made it. The pots and everything are in the kitchen."

I looked at the buttered toasts and scrambled eggs on the plate, then at him.

"You're telling me that you made all this yourself? How?"

His lips stretched into a smile. "I don't know. I just did. Maybe I learnt from watching you do it."

"You almost burnt down my house the last time you tried to cook something," I reminded him matter-of-factly.

"That was then," he said. "Now is now."

I eyed the food again mysteriously. I was almost afraid to eat it.

He smiled and lifted a slice of toast, then brought it to my lips.

Reluctantly, I opened my mouth and took a bite.

I was wowed. It was delicious!

"Not bad," I said, and took another bite.

When all the toast was done, Dimitri lifted some eggs on a fork and brought it to my lips.

I finished all the eggs also and he handed me a glass of OJ, which I drank and handed back the glass.

He took it and rose from the bed.

"I'll be back," he said and left.

I got up also, and walked to the room where I was staying to take a shower. After a quick shower I got dressed and went to the living room.

Dimitri was there, sitting on the recliner. When he saw me he motioned for me to come sit beside him.

I walked over to the recliner.

"Scoot over," I said.

"Sit," he answered, not moving. He patted his lap.

Oookkkay...

I slowly lowered myself onto his lap so that my legs were hanging over one side and I could face him. He wrapped his arms around my waist.

"You were great last night," he whispered in my ear. His breath was warm and tickled as it came in contact with my skin.

"I-" I began. But before I could finish, I heard the front door being opened. There were a few audible footsteps before Flo marched into the living room. She stopped suddenly when she saw us, her mouth dropping open.

"Am I interrupting something?" She asked as her lips stretched into a smile.

I got up off Dimitri's lap and sat on the sofa opposite.

"Since when do you enter a person's house without permission?" I asked her.

"The door was open."

"So," I snapped.

"So I came in," she said.

I rolled my eyes. "What do you want?"

"Hey there!" She said to Dimitri, ignoring my question.

Dimitri nodded a greeting then rose from his seat.

"I'm going to go use the bathroom," he said to me. I nodded and he left.

"Why do I get the feeling that he doesn't like me?" Flo asked when he was gone.

"What do you want?" I asked again. I was really pissed that she interrupted our moment.

"They're making me visit Aunt Rhonda," she said. "I could use some company."

Aunt Rhonda wasn't actually her aunt, everyone just called her that. Each week, someone from Flo's neighborhood would visit her just to check up on her. But the woman could be so judgy and hard to deal with sometimes.

"Ok," I said. "I'll go get ready at my place."

We both left Dimitri's and walked over to my place. I opened the door and as soon as I did so I realized how much I already missed Dimitri's place. And him. My mind still at Dimitri's, I stepped in, Flo behind me.

The air was stuffy inside. As I stepped in, I was greeted by the single earring I had lost lying on the rug immediately infront of the door and a pair of blue and white Adidas sneakers I must've left there.

I picked up the earring and placed it in my pocket, then unconsciously picked up the sneakers and brought them with me to my room, placing them on the floor next to my closet.

I decided to take a shower. I started to remove my top. I stopped. The blouse fell back to its original position.

Why is it suddenly so chilly in here?

I looked around me. Nothing. I shivered. The hairs on the back of my neck rose.

What was wrong with me?

Something was wrong. But not with me.

I tried to scream as the large hands aggressively grabbed my arms from behind, but my screams were suffocated by the hand that roughly covered my mouth.

I kicked and struggled to escape as I felt myself being dragged away.

That was when I realized that I didn't own any Adidas sneakers...
